Yeah I meant for when I'm out without baby, I have no problems bf in public having fed ds til bout 15 months!
God I can't believe there is so little provision for veg ff! I know many people class fish as vegetarian, but I def don't! Do formula companies just assume most veg mums just bf then?
I know I can take the powder out in pots, I more meant because it comes in a big box in two packets, and it has to be used within 6 wks of opening is it? (Its a long time ago I used it lol) And especially initially I'd only be needing it v occasionally so much of it would have to be chucked out.
I did try expressing whilst bf, that was the only way I could get anything out, but found it v hard as using a manual pump and even then only got bout an ounce at a time. So to get enough for a few feeds I'd need to be doing it every single feed. Would get an electric pump but no guarantees I'd do much better expressing and they're bit too expensive for me to take the chance!

I havn't been able to find Hipp organic anywhere either but I get around it by using formula pots when i'm out and about. When you make up formula you can add the water to the bottle and it will stay sterile as long as it's sealed. I have pots of pre-measured formula which sits in the bottle and I just add it when she needs it and shake it well to make sure it dissolved in the cooler water. A lady on another forum called up the formula company and they told her that the powder itself is made in a sterile environment so it doesn't need the warm water for hygiene reasons, just because it will dissolve better in there.

I think she's asking for ff for when she goes out on her own without the baby.
To answer your question OP, as far as I'm aware Hipp is the only one that doesn't have fish derived products. Someone may correct me. Hipp do satchets of formula but only follow on formula which is not suitable for babies under 6 months.
I hope you find something that works for you.
Oh if you do decide to try expressing feed baby off one side and express on the other side at the same time. Makes the let down a lot easier and you'll probably get more milk that way.

sorry to pry - but why do you need formula for when you go out - you can take your boobs with you!

seriously tho - is there a reason why you cant feed when you are out? x

Hi, I'm pregnant with 2nd baby and planning on bf, but never got on with expressing last time so had to use formula on the odd occasions I needed to go out without baby. I used Hipp organic formula, as it was organic and vegetarian (loads of formulas ave fish oil in) but this time want to get some ready made cartons so I don't end up wasting the formula cos not using it fast enough. I can't find Hipp organic in cartons, does anyone know if they do it, or can anyone recommend a dif vegetarian formula that does come in cartons?
Thanks!

sma is veggie but only the powder! i did find though that it made los poos firmer so swapped and they've been softer since so wouldnt recommend it but it is veggie!!
you can get this in 7oz sachets!
