Thanks, no just bigger size wrap, nappy the same size until she has grown more, but maybe I should try one of the other folds, normally just leaks around the legs, think i have it done up tight enough maybe have it too tight as always has nappy marks on her bum, she is still on milk so i'm hoping that when she has more solid poos should not be such a problem,

also does she have solid poos yet or is she still on milk as that might be why!
what fold do you do cos theres special folds for newborns and runny poo!
the newborn fold is with rolled sides and for runny poo due to illness you can do that fold but fan the back out to catch the poo

are you using just next size wrap? do the inserts come in different sizes? (ive only had one size so dont know!)
if so then maybe you need bigger inserts?
also make sure the liner is only one layer and not 2
where does it leak- legs, back, front?
maybe the wrap isnt tight enough cos i found wee leaked out cos of this but not poo

Hi, you may be able to give me a bit of advice, i use bambino mio but at moment having problem with poo, always leaks onto the cover, have had this since started using them, what is the best way to avoid this?? little one is 5 months old and 13lbs in weight so have moved up from newborn covers to the next size.
Many thanks, posted on another forum and the only advice given was sell them because they are know to leak, have birth to potty pack so do not want to sell.

Good luck hun, Kushies are excellent nappies for convenience btw. You'll be fine with washables, you very quickly get used to washing and drying, doesn't add much to your work load at all tbh. Everyone thought I was crazy too!

we were lucky as my mum and a couple of friends kpt us in nappies until lo was about 4 months then we had to buy cheap ones and the occasional pack off me mum!!
for some reason i never attempted washables until he was about 7 months but wish i had now as ive alreadyu noticed the difference money wise in 2 months and also it means less bulky shopping bags and i know ill never run out as theres always some washed and drying!
good luck and remember to post if you need any more help!

That's fab! Well done. You will save a fortune. In a few short months you have already saved money! All the best with your little one. x

thank you so much for all your advice i think i will get them and have a go and i thought of a few kushies for days out or for babysitters as they are easier to use. i'm not too worried bout the poo side cos i wont be breastfeeding. did that wit my dd and it was so painful i vowed never again so the poo should be firmer so less leaks. my family thinks i'm crazy for wanting to use re-usables but i just see pound signs! i'm on a low income so the thought of forking out £10 a week on nappies just fills me with dread! but i also get a £500 grant from the government to buy babystuff so thought i might put it to some good use! thanks again for the advice. just gotta wait for the baby to come now!!!

I got passed own some of these from cousin and they have been pretty good. A few bf poo leaks but I got more leaks with tots bots. I am starting to build up a stock of Bum Genius which cost more each but are 8-35lb so you don't need lots in each size. My 10 month old is very wriggly and it can be a fiddle getting Bambino Mio nappies on. I'd agree with an earlier post that the velcro can rub on the tummy which hasn't happened with the Bum Genius.25/8/08 16:17
Hi I tried these in the newborn and small size on my DD, and I must say I wasn't very impressed. Everytime she pooed (which was a lot at that age!) the poo would leak onto the cover and even with just wet nappies I found the cover got wet too so I would end up changing the cover at every change. Also I found after a couple of washes the velcro on the cover folded in on itself and rubbed DD's belly making it sore.
the only plus side I could find with them is that they dry very quickly. If you are on a budget you might be better off going for actual terries, they will fit from birth through to potty training, dry REALLY quickly and mine only cost about £4 each. Learning how to fold them only took about a day, we love them now even tho we also use shaped nappies.

I use these and I find them to be great, my daughter is now 17 months and we have been using them for a month now with no issues (the occasional leak, but you get that with any nappy). Only reason I didn't use reusables from birth is because I was talked out of it by family. I must say though I find these quite easy. I did quite a lot of research and had a look at a few other nappies, the reason I settled with these was because they aren't bulky and no as expensive as some of the others (I was lucky enough to get some of hte stuff off of ebay). I would wholeheartedly recommend these ^_^.

I use the birth to potty pack and my wee one is over 6 months. I have had some leaks but I've had more leaks with disposable! (I only use them for hols)
For a night time nappy I use 2 small inserts or I use the next size up. It's bulky but it doesn't matter as it's night time anyway!
I would say it is well worth the money. I've tested out other brands and find that they are no better or worse than bambino.

see i found mine lasted 4 hours without leaking. it was saturated and i should have changed it earlier but didnt leak?
someties nappies leak when they arent the right size?
i must say though that ive never had any problems with motherease and have found them better than disposables defo! ive had more leaks with disposables then washables!
24/8/08 21:13
I used these and I found they leaked alot so I switched to Motherease birth to potty. They were ok tho, they get better the more you wash them, you just have to MAKE SURE you change them every 2 to 3 hours and it's probably best to invest in a good night time nappy such as tots bots fluffles, they are super absorbant and quick to dry, really good for night time (too bulky for daytime tho). Mios won't last thru the night. Also I found that with newborn, breasfeed poo, the poo travelled up the back of them, but then, that happened with disposables too! The only nappies that have never leaked have been the shaped to fit ones!
24/8/08 20:46
forgot to say once id adjusted the cover i had no problems and they last just as long as other washables about 3-4 hours- they also take up less room!
and when i have another baby im defo gunna get either these or other prefolds as they are less bulky than motherease and not too much bulkier than a disposable which is a bonus!
24/8/08 20:43
ive just bought a 12 pack!! ive only tried one but found it grear.
i hadnt realsied they were prefolds so was disappointed when they came thinking oh they wont work as well but they actually are a little better in some wasy then my motherease ones!!
the only tip i would say is make sure you out the cover on tight enough cos i didnt and it leaked!!! on his trousers missing the cover and his vest!!
the covers are lovely and they are so easy to use. pre wash them and they strink but no need to pre wash covers and the covers cant be soaked either
good value defo
