Hi I had my 1st baby in jan this year, but just wanted to let you know that I had brown spotting every few weeks from 7 -25 weeks, and even though during that time I had my scans and mw appts where I heard the heartbeat it never stopped worrying me! my gp said it could either be from an old bleed or some women still have spotting in pregnancy at the time they would have had a period. I had a perfect and healthy baby boy on 5th Jan! I know its easy for me to say but try and relax if it does happen again. Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy, it goes so fast! x

    Hi,

I was 38 when I was pregnant with my last ds and had brown spotting at 17 and 18 weeks.  Everything was fine but I know that its sooooo scary. If you cant get in touch with your midwife, call your maternity unit. thats  what I did and they were great.  I had a scan to confirm that all was well and it really set my mind at rest. Good luck.  I hope all is well. XXXXXX

    Hi Zoe,

I had brown spotting most day  for 3 weeks very early on. A scan at 8 weeks showed a blood clot in the uterus that was slowly coming away.  Everything was fine for me but if your worried talk to your mw.

    Good luck

Hi Zoey, I haven't had this myself but lots of other ladies on these forums had problems similar to this earlier on.  Basically if the blood is brown then it's most likely old blood.  Could be that the bleed you had earlier on didn't all come away and this is just what's left.  I know this is much easier said than done, but try not to worry, if it turns red again or becomes heavy then get advice immediately.  Otherwise, if you really are very worried maybe just ring your midwife as I'm sure she will be able to put your mind at rest better than any of us.  I'm sure all will be well hun - good luck at your 16 week appointment and I hope you get to hear that heartbeat because I know that will help to reassure you.  But again, don't worry too much if she can't find it.  Mine found this one's heartbeat really easily at 16 weeks but then at 19 weeks she couldn't find it for ages - think she got more worried than I did actually!  Anyway, I hope this helps to reassure you a little.  xxx

    I have a questionzoesee2008

hi im zoey im 34 and pregnant with my second child .. i had a scare about 3weeks ago where i woke up bleeding this stopped then started 2days late but brown spotting and has been doing so ever since. I had a scan after my bleed at EPAU and they couldnt see a problem .. they said not to worry unless it got heavy red and or clots .. so i have tryed not to worry i was wondering if any of the ladies here had any similiar experinces .. its such a worry.

I have my 16 week chekc up on tuesday so im hoping they will shed some light on it for me and HOPEFULLY i will get to hear the babies heartbeat.

    Kind Regards

    Zoey 16+2

    xxxxxx
