Hi
I didnt have the triple test but I did have the two blood tests.... I only wanted to know the % rate even though I know they arent 100%. I am 39 and was told I was a high risk and could come back 1 in 60.
Any way it took 10 very long awaited days for the results, and alot of un necessary worrryyyy...... My results came back 1 in 20,000.00
I think if I could turn back the clock I wouldnt of had the tests..... As I wanted my baby what ever the results....
Its a shame in this day and age that tests arent more correct....with quicker results.....
But of course we should have the option there to have tests or not.....
Wish you well....

Hiya, I think there are lots of us that didn't. Try reading the Downs Syndrome and the 1 in 5 risk of Down's Syndrome threads - I think they, between them, have quite a balanced and informative view on the tests and things. Personally I haven't had any tests and my 20 week scan didn't pick up any anomolies but of course I won't find out until December whether there is anything or not for sure. But as I say, those two threads go into quite a lot of detail and there are many points of view on them from ladies who have and who haven't had the tests. I won't bump them up because they're only a few threads down from this one anyway. Hope this helps.

Hi girls
sorry if this has been posted before.
did anyone not have the triple test (or other screening tests) or do you know of anyone who didn't. If so what was the outcome.
I don't want to have it because of the amount of false positives and wouldn't have an aminio because of the risk of m/c. I will be 40 next week.
Thanks
Jo

Hi there,
I didn't have any of the tests as I would have had any of the invasive tests, so just decided that I didn't need the extra stress.. I'm 38 with my 1st baby - and just under 6 weeks to go, so time will tell..
I think its a very personal decision and everyone feels differently about these.
