I have two sons with a 19 1/2 years age gap. I dont think it harder for being an older Mum, but for my second son being so much more hard work. He didnt sleep at all for his first year and was still wanting to be fed every three hours up to 5 months old. (even the nurses when he was in hospital at 4 month,s couldn't cope with his whinging when they supposedly took him off me at 3am to get some sleep, and dumped him back at my bed after half an hour lol). He had severe Reflux, still has and rarely slept. Ds 1 was a text book baby Gina Ford would of been proud of so made for me being such a serene Mum first time round

Hi everyone I have a very large gap between my eldest daughter and son, she is 25yrs and my son is 2yr and I now have another daughter aged 8mths. At the age of 42yrs I have two children under the age of 3, and I was wondering how many mums out there about my age who have two small children have or would even consider a third and final beautiful babe. I am so grateful to have my two who were both very much planned, I dont know if it seems right to maybe leave to fate and see if anything happens without using contraception.

Hi ladies I seem to like doing mine in 3's! I have dd 23,ds 20 and dd 16 and then ds 5 ds3 and bump due on 3rd March. The 2 older ones are out the house living with partners and I have a granddaughter from dd23 who is 2 in september.I have been with my partner 8 years and was married before.People do say Im mad especially when they see me running down the road after the boys but I couldnt imagine anything else.I have also been at college and uni the past 4 years(and working!) and going into the 3rd year of my degree in sept. The older ones are a great help and as im an only child and dp family live quite far away they more than make up for lack of aunties and uncles for the boys x

Hi there all, glad to see I'm not the only 'mad' woman out there. lol. I have 3 dd's eldest 20, next 17 and my sweet adorable little girl 15 months. She was totally planned and like some others she is my 2nd dh's first and I too wish we had decided to have her before we did as I am sure we would have also had a brother or sister for her by now.
She is such an easy baby, very rarely cries, sleeps 12-14 hrs per night, sleeps 1-2 hours during the day and is so contented and relaxed that I hardly know I have her. I have now gone back to work part-time and miss her so much. When I had my older 2 I needed to go back to work full-time and only had 18 weeks mat leave with both of them, but this time I had nearly a year off and just relaxed with her. I do find I am a lot more tired and often find myself falling to sleep around 9pm every night but my attitude is so different than when I was younger (I'm 41 now!).The older 2 do help out but the eldest is at uni, and the middle one is always out and about with friends or b/f but when they are here they really are a great help.
I am currently considering another one, but not too sure what we are doing yet, am still suffering with PND and taking anti-d's but am seeing doctor in a couple of weeks and may mention it too her then.

Hi, I got quite big gaps. My 1st is 18, my 2nd is 16 then i have a gap my 3rd is 8. I'm now trying for my 4th.
After each of them i vowed there'd be no more. I get broody though. Judging by the gaps it looks like as i'm getting older it takes longer to recover from each birth!!
