    Hi Ladies!!

Just popped on before I take the computer apart and reassemble it downstairs, if I am not online for a few days you will know i have not put it back together properly, I am doing it myself as I have asked DH god knows how many times to to this, and we need the room its in - it's supposed to be Lillie's bedroom, at the moment it has a huge computer desk in it with our computer, ladders, paint, and boxes from the wardbrobe that stores marks rubbish!!

Hope the start to Jan's holiday is ok, just seen the weather forecast, and we are still rain free up here, looks horrible everywhere else!

Hi Jo - I Know what you mean about keeping the front of the house looking good - I was really embarrsed at the state ours got into - also looking to get our driveway and path done next year, next doors got theirs done and what a fantastic job done! makes our garden look tired, but now at least it looks neat - for now!! LOL We have problems with our rubbish bins too, we have three colours, grey for household waste, only gets emptied once a fortnight(Fife was to be the trial for this in Scotland, why us!!), we have blue bins for paper and cardboard and brown for garden waste, we all got given a "bin calendar" just to remember what dates they go out on! LOL! They bin men are so nasty now they have the authority to reject a bin if the lid is open more than 1cm, Mark jumps in the bins just to make sure the lid stays down!! Its not happened to us but its becoming sooooo silly!!  We also get bothered alot by sales people and charity workers at the door, i support a good charity at work and that normally makes them take the hint, but sales people take the biscuit - once saw two huge 4x4's park in our road, 8 sales peopel got out, suited and booted, and you could see them in sucession knocking on the doors, they picked a terrible time - tea/dinner time! Some of them have rambled their well remembered speech off at 100mph as you are trying to tell them no thanks! wouldn't like their job in a million years - oh god I am rambling!!!

Hi Debbie - Welcome to our thread!!! i am Heather, 41, live north of the border in Fife, have a 15 year old teenage son and a georgous daughter who is 6 months old, I am still on mat leave at the moment and enjoying the time off work.

    part two ......................

angela - wow, james is a proper big boy now. dreading the whole school thing. think i'll have to take the day off and cry - hopefully hormones will have returned to normal by the time matthew starts school - lol  i get confused with the years now - when i went to school you started at year 1-5 then onto 6th form if you wanted. it was a very strict grammar school as well but we all used to turn our tie around so it was thin and roll up our grey box pleated skirts!! i'm still pondering the meal times .... if we try to eat with matthew he just points at our food and refuses his - actually pushing the spoon away. i'm really trying hard not to laugh at some of the things he's doing at the moment.

sarah - loooove the new photo - especially as it looks like the sun is shining    just had a chuckle at jasps expense - broken his bum - hahahahaha. i'm all for recycling but our local council has now decided that we should have four wheely bins - one for general waste, one garden rubbish, one cardboard etc and one for glass - now, where am i supposed to put these bloody bins. my front garden !!!!!!!!!!  wow, your friend has been through it all the last few days - she'll be a mummy again on 16th and she can plan around it. was she going for a c section anyway???  if it makes you feel any better i came "on" three weeks ago on sunday. think it's going to be another trip to the gp think hubby is getting slightly peeved off with it as well but beats saying you've got a headache - LOL. have you thought of selling nelson baby stuff on ebay - people sell clothe bundles on there for say £70 - i'm think of doing it with matthews gear because i couldn't be bothered doing a car boot either - plus they start about 5am   oh just read heather post - snap!

jan - hope you have a great holiday. i found when we were away that i kept his bedtime routine exactly the same and even took a grobag that he'd slept in the night before so it smelt of home. in fact he used to sleep until 8am every morning which he never does at home. probably all the fresh air. i was really surprised though by how well he settled because i was worried like you. mmmm, got a slow cooker and could prepare the next before. only ever made casserole in it so will have to look at other recipes - thanks. spoke to some friends who have children and they were saying that takes their kids a couple of weeks to sort themselves out after the clocks change - there is no way i'm going to be getting up at 5.30am for a few weeks   had to mention the cold calling, whether by phone or door to door .............. last night at 7pm i was putting matthew to bed when the door bell rang and it was someone from the nspcc - i tell you, couldn't get rid of him and told him i was putting my son to bed!!! think i should report him to the nspcc!

debbie - great to hear from you - we're all addicted to this post, as you'll find out. you can't be away for a day - haha. i'm 38 next month and have a 13 month old boy matthew.  happy birthday for tuesday (i said that quietly, no one heard)

izzy - can't wait to hear all your news.

lisa - have a great holiday

hope you all have a fantastic weekend and the sun shine at some point

    hi everyone

not done much today as the weather has been pants - i was thinking of your this morning heather as scotland looked like it was the only place this morning that wasn't going to be getting rain!!!!!

matthew top left tooth is nearly through - had a feel today because i thought it had cut through but no - fingers crossed for tomorrow. then i think we've got a bottom right coming.

it's our local carnival tomorrow and i was going to take matthew (dh working) but looks like the rain is here for a few days so don't fancy standing in the rain and walking on a muddy field - may be another day in.

oh my god, there's so much to catch up on ........................

heather - it would have frightened me half to death if i woke up with matthew starring at me !!! lol at the blueberry nappies - i've never had one of those, maybe all of matthews nappies look like blueberry - haha  well i'm here again whilst waiting for the final final of bb - think mikey is going to win. i loved the kate, jonny bb - think that was one of the best actually. i'm wondering now what i'm going to do with myself now i have my evenings back - LOL. i bought a bath seat from asda - think it was about £9.50. i;ve seen the ones which have a bath mat attached to it but think they're more for toddler & baby. know what you mean about back ache - ohhh my god. in fact these days i have back ache, leg ache etc and he's not even walking yet now it's going darker at night my bedtimes will probably move forward to 9pm - hee hee  would hate to work in hr - hr is the worst part of my job. why can't people just come to work, do their job, get paid and go home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  LOL at your productive day but the light bulb still needs doing sounds like you had a great day though. i'm looking at getting our front garden flagged so it's no maintainence - at least then the front of the house will look great.

Heather - I did check out ebay to sell some of the stuff, but there seamed to be 10 of everything I have already, didn't think I stood a chance.  There is a shop down the road from where I work, that sells second hand baby stuff, off loaded some clothes there earlier this year, but they are really fussy what they'll take.  I borrowed the moses basket, so don't have one of those and one of the girls who recently had a baby here, was doing her babies room in the same collection I had so I gave her some stuff.  Got to sort out his baby toys now!  My house is full of toys!  The only room without toys is our bedroom, but their slowly creeping in!

    God I have waffled.

Hi Sarah - Mark and I are going to do a boot sale with all Lillie's stuff, the moses basket and baby bath is taking up space, still got lots of good stuff from when callum was a baby too. Have you thought of selling on e-bay?? Or on bounty in their buy/sell section. I am just getting fed up of our loft, spare bedroom and the garage full of junk (Mark is a hoarder and never throws things away!) Luckily my brother is good at all these things, so he can bloody well make amends with helping us shift everything!! He must be in "grovelling forgiveness mode" as he is taking Callum to 5 football games!

Hi me again - wet wet wet today!!!!!  No change from yesterday really.  Really must get Nelson some Wellies.

Just been out for lunch, with my friend here, to a little café in town, just like a little holiday café it was nice.  Was supposed to be writing my thank you cards out for Nelson's prezzies, I'll have to sneakily do them between work.  tut tut!

Glad you had a nice day yesterday Heather.  Really don't know what I'm going to do with this baby stuff Nelson's grown out of.  It's all in the loft, suppose I should do a car boot or something, too much hasle though.

Have a nice time in Wales Jan, been there when the weathers been awful, still had a good time.  Have picture of mum and me standing in front of the sign that said the Snowden railway is shut due to bad weather lol!

    Have a good weekend everyone.

    hi everyone

Well it's absolutely chucking it down here and it's supposed to get worse this afternoon .    Weather forecasters got it right today!  Doesn't look as if we're going to have a very nice journey tomorrow either - might have to go by boat - lol - oh well - hopefully it'll get it all out the way for the rest of the week!!

Sarah - thanks for the link about tops and jack in the boxes - just taken a quick look now - just what I'm looking for - will have a proper look when I get back off hols and pick something!  Nice getting a hug from Jasper - at least he noticed you were feeling down!   Hope you're feeling better today.   Good news about your friend too.  I think I'm going to have to get Thomas a thicker sleeping bag now the nights are getting cooler - the last couple of mornings he's felt quite cool when I've got him out of his cot.

Heather - ooo home baked cakes - yum .   Sounds like you had a lovely day - rained here yesterday morning too but lovely and sunny in the afternoon.  Very productive when you got back home as well - I'm impressed - lol!!!    Thanks for the info about tesco codes - will look them up next time I want to do an online shop.  Been on his website before but didn't think to look for discount codes on there.   Had real problems yesterday with Bounty as you say - pop ups driving me mad - seems to be doing it today as well - aaaggghhhh!!  Like the cake ideas - love carrot cake - didn't think of that and like the rocket idea.  Thomas seems to like Mr Men as well so did think of maybe trying to make a cake in the shape of one of them - depends how creative I'm feeling on the day!!  Lol at you saying teachers were scary in our day - how true that was!  We daren't have put a foot out of line otherwise we new how much trouble we'd get into.  Know what you mean about people stopping dead in front of you with trolleys - or they barge their way through because they're too impatient to wait a few seconds while people move out the way.  Grrrr!

Talking about things that happen in supermarkets - my other pet hate is sales people on the phone - why do they always ring when you're about to have a meal????  Last night the phone rang at 6.00pm - someone trying to flog an extra benefit with my credit card - told her I hadn't got time to talk but she just carried on waffling and told me it'd only take a few minutes - told her I really hadn't got time again and then she took the hint!!  What part of "I haven't got time at the moment" didn't she understand - aaaaggghh - anyway rant over!

Well I've put everything out on our bed that we need to take with us - omg there's loads!  Dh will have kittens when he sees it all - he thinks we can get by with one pair of knickers and a t-shirt all week - lol!  He's in for a shock d.

Hi to everyone else.  Think of me sailing into Wales tomorrow - lol!!!    Will catch up when I get back - byeeeeeee!!!

    Good morning ladies!!!

The weather man got the forecast completely wrong yesterday, it was Mark's day off, we got glorious sunshine and a warm 20 degrees all day!!!! So we scooped up Lillie and went out for the day, we had coffee and homebaked cakes at an organic farm, lovely countryside around and of course lillie was cooed over by the older generation, loads of hill walkers around too!! Didn't stop yesterday when we got home, Mark was ready to sit down after our tea - so I gave Lillie to Callum to look after, and we managed 2 hours of weeding and tidying up our front garden, he even fixed the conservatory guttering and then he built up a new computer desk! So yesterday WAS very productive!! He still hasn't changed that bloody light bulb though!!!! LOL!!!

Why did I not look on our thread first thing this morning???? Dooooh!! I only ordered an aquapod from mothercare for the bath for lillie, the bath mat sounds quite similar to what jan and sarah are talking about, thank you Sarah,  for your kind offer, I should have read bounty first - that will teach me in future!!!!

I think it was Jan that was asking about Tesco codes, I found them initially on the bounty site, think it was under finance, anyway the best site is http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1015057&page=5

You will recognise the person who's website this is, he is on the TV all the time, telling us to cap our power suppliers rates and telling us how to manage our money. i have never paid for delivery charges with Tesco thanks to this site. Just remember the codes do have an expiry date and sometimes, rarely they dont work. Hope this helps xxx

Hi Jan - See you are having probs with bounty postings too, the pop up blockers are going non stop on this site too for some odd reason! One of my friends asked me not that long ago what type of cake she should make for her LO, she wanted something different apart from sponge, i said carrot cake, you know what?? It went down a storm! She covered it in icing and made it into a princess's tiara!! It adapts well, I prefer good old chocolate fudge cake myself but that's another story! LOL!!  Thomas the tank Engine Cake, or maybe a Rocket Cake? Do you have a theme in mind?? Oh tell you what is nice - a sponge cake with a honey !!

Hi Sarah - Sorry you were having such a horrible day yesterday - have a hug from me too!!!! I get terribly low with Mark working all the hours god sends, so by the time he gets home I just explode, it took a day like yesterday to pick me up though!! Did Jasper realise that you needed time to chill and relax?? And as Angela quite rightly said - moan away, as our little support network will spring into action for you !!!! Think you have started something on supermarkets now!! God they just drive me nuts!, dosey people with trolleys who stop dead in front of you are a nightmare too, and rude staff that need a swift kick up the bum!! LOL!!

hi angela - yeah LO is still dribbling away - mark keeps calling her his soggy princess!! I will need to ask Callum where they have cameras at school, I dont think they have them in the toilets yet! LOL! God it will be metal detectors next eh????? Didn't need that in our day the teachers were scary enough, and we had the belt up here for punishment in my day.

Hi everyone else - hope you all have a good weekend, weather sounds nasty though, boooooooooooo!!!!

    Hi

Well I couldn't believe it Jasper actually noticed I wasn't top form last night, all by himself!!!!  He gave me a lovely hug, all this is so unusual!  Whats he done?  No I think because his not feeling well his realised how I feel.

Heard from my friend again the babies moved to being breach now, so she's been booked for a c-section on the 16th.  Much relief all round and she's just happy now at not having to spend weeks sitting around in hospital waiting.

I had to put Nelson in his big thick fleecey sleep suit last night.  He woke early yesterday morning as he was cold and was right grumpy.  He can pull blankets over him, but hasn't yet assocated being cold with snuggleing under he duvet.  Dumbnuts!  Did the trick he slept lovely.

Jan - Hope you have a good week away, found a web site selling traditional spinning tops and Jack in the Boxes, see link below.  They look great I'm tempted myself, remember having one of these spinning tops I loved it.  Hope you see it before you go on holiday, have a good time if we don't hear from you before.

Heather - I have one of the mats Jan has, it's a Tommee Tippee one.  Nelson now loves pointing at the pictures when I let the bath water out, I'm trying to get him to name them.

Have a good weekend everyone and catch you later if your about.

Grrrrr just noticed bounty's cut part of my post to Heather off - I'll put it here again!

Heather - haven't watched much of BB9 at all this year - might take a look at the final tomorrow night though much to my dh's delight.  Lol at Lillie starring at you - no wonder you had a fright - wonder how long she'd been doing that.   Thomas has started to push himself up on his arms now - he can only do it in his cot at the moment though - he can hold himself up for about 30 secs and then he just collapses!  Lol at your comment about the shopping being hurled at you at 100mph.  That's so true - I think they do it on purpose when you say you don't want a hand with the packing.  Out of interest where do you find the Tesco discount codes?  I went through a phase of shopping online with them but I must admit I begrudge paying the delivery charge - would pay for a few more cakes - lol!  I just try to fit the supermarket shop in now whenever I'm near the place rather than have to make a special trip.

    Hopefully this won't disappear now!

Izzy - welcome back!  How long is it since we heard from you?  We thought you'd abandoned us - lol!  Look forward to hearing your news.

Lisa - welcome back to you too!  Love the new photo of Becca - hope you have a lovely time in Skegness.  Are you looking forward to going back to Uni?

Angela - Sounds like James' first day at high school went ok - lol at you running to the loo all the time!!  Sounds like you were just as nervous as him!   All those rules as well - I don't remember having rules like those when I was at school - mind you it was a long time ago now - lol!  Hasn't it all changed since we were at school though with cameras everywhere now as well?

Heather - forgot to say about the bath mats/seats - I bought a non slip mat from Argos - it's got a spot on it that changes colour if the water's too hot.  Got crabs and fish on it I think - found it really good now Thomas can sit unaided.  He was a right wriggle before I got it and would slip and slide everywhere.  Thought it was a good buy as can use it for us in the shower when he doesn't need it anymore.

Sarah - just read your latest post - don't know why I missed it .  Hope all goes well on Monday for you and you feel better soon.  Good to hear your friend's coming round to doing the right thing as well - probably thought about it and realised that it's for the best.  Sounds like Jasper could do with a kick up that broken bum!!!  MEN!!!

Well that's it I think I've caught up with everyone now!

OMG you've been sooooo busy on here!!  Well it's been raining here for a change again today.  Looks as if our hols are going to be wet .  Oh well, will come back with rust not a tan I suppose

Jo - know what you mean about the nights drawing in - suddenly seems to have happened and gone cold at night now too - might have to put the heating on soon!!  We're off to Aberaeron in Wales for a week and then got a week at home.  Really looking forward to it - just hope Thomas sleeps ok while we're away in a strange place otherwise will be spending second week catching up on sleep - lol!  Any sign of Matthew's teeth yet?  Ummmm - tea's a problem isn't it when your dh on lates.  I know what you mean though as my dh doesn't get in some nights until after 7.00 so I will send up having to cook something specially.  The only other thing I suppose is cook something and either keep it warm for dh when he gets in or cook something that could easily be reheated when he got in - difficult one!  Have you got a slow cooker?  Could maybe do something in that while you're out at work then it's ready for when you got home and Matthew could have a bit of whatever it is and should keep it warm for dh when he got in (if he eats that late that is!!!).  Funnily enough I was only thinking the other day about the clocks altering at end of October.  Think I might just see what happens and go with the flow a bit and just get Thomas back to his usual routine over the following week.  Hopefully he won't realise the time and it'll just fall into place - lol!

Sarah - glad Nelson's party went well - weather really good for you too which was great.  Love the new photo - he looks as if he's having a good time!   Leanne sounds such a great childminder - lucky Nelson having two parties.   Sounds like he loves his rocket - I saw it the other day in ELC when I was in there.  I'm looking for a spinning top and jack in the box for Thomas but they hadn't got anything suitable so I'm still looking!!    Really struggle some days to get a pint of milk down him - I've started giving him custard or fruity rice for pudding now at lunch time which generally makes up for what he won't drink!   Sounds worrying for your friend - it's really difficult when there's another lo to take into consideration.   I'd be scared stiff if I was told I might only have 20 mins to get the hospital - we live 20 mins from the hospital as it is and that was bad enough with a normal labour!!!    Lol at the plastic bags and Tesco's.  They do that at Sainsbury's now as well although they will give you some when you ask but you only get about two - try cramming a weeks worth of shopping into those - lol!  It really annoys me as we recycle our plastic bags anyway - they're taken in our kerbside collections.  Lol at Jasper thinking he's broken his bum - ha ha - enjoy rubbing if for him

Heather - lol at Lillie taking too big a gulp - Thomas does that!  Always ends up doing a massive burp as he's gulped down so much air as well - lol!  He drinks the bath water as well - yuk!  Caught him weeing in the bath the other day so try to stop him drinking it - lol!  We're off to Aberaeron in Wales for our hols - looks as if it's going to be a wet one!!  Never mind it's a break from the usual routine anyway.    Love the sound of Callum's first birthday party - the cake sounds as if it was a work of art.  I'm going to have a go at making Thomas' first birthday cake - haven't decided what to do yet though - any suggestions ladies???!!   Haven't watched much of BB9 at all this year - might take a look at the final tomorrow night though much to my dh's delig

Sarah, big (((hug))) for you, give Jasp a kick up the arse, never mind rubbing it!! I too nearly choked and fell off my chair when i read he thought he'd broke it, I guess it is a bit of an anti-climax after rushing around like a headless chicken for weeks on end, hope you feel better soon, and moan away thats what we're here for.

Heather, i borrowed a baby seat for the bath off someone and only used it a couple of times, but they are good while they can't sit up, how's Lillies dribbling coming on, lol.

Have a great weekend all, hope to put my photos on facebook tomorrow of the holiday and James's first day, oh god i'm so boring, lol

    Hi Everyone

Woke up feeling rather down today, probably the come down after weekend.  Plus the weather and I'm 'on' again!  Hope you don't mind me having a winge on here, I don't even bother at home, it dosen't make any different he doesn't listen to me, so I just get on with what ever needs doing.  Was feeling rough last night  and he was just lying on the sofa with his 'back'!  Another busy night tonight, don't seam to get any time to myself to relax.  Wish I could have a day off and just chill, but I can't things need to be done and I'd feel so guilty if I had time off and didn't spend it with Nelson.

Having the coil fitted Monday hopefully, if all goes well it might sort me out.

Heard from my pregnant friend last night, seams she's coming round to doing the right thing, which is a relief.  I don't know all the details, but if it were me I'd be begging to be booked in for c-section and be done with it.

Heather - you were asking about bath seats, I bought a Mothercare bath seat and hardly used it, you'd be welsome to it.  I bought it too late and by the time Nelson got used to it he was sitting anyway.  The on link below.  Pm your address if you want it.

HI everyone else, better go and do some work, take my mind of my troubles, I should be grateful they could be worse.

sarah - just laughed out loud at your posting! With jasper's broken bum!!!!!!!!! Nearly inhaled my entire biscuit, cough! cough! How on earth did he do his back in??? Or is it his job??  I too have noticed how the supermarkets are now hiding free carrier bags, but its when they ask if you want a help with packing, now there are two situations that infuriate the hell out of me here! 1) You only have 4 items and they ask you if you need a hand packing!! 2) If you say no, its ok I can manage, and you have a whole trolley full of goddies, they then fire them at you at 100mph! A no win situation - I have told a cashier to slow down and think about her customer service before! I do my main shop online now as its easier and I have found loads of tesco online codes for discount!

angela - never heard the term the "swirlies" before, sounds a cool name for that! They dont have detention up here - but if your child arrives at school without appropriate uniform they phone the parents work/home straight away!! Think they are trying the embarrasement tact there!! LOL
