All is quiet at home - so I thought I'd pop back on for a peek! Lillie is having a nap and i have got one eye on Little Dorrit, only watch the damn thing because of Matthew Macfadyen, and I still haven't got a clue what its about! LOL!!

My eyes are clear as a bell today and all the puffing is gone! That willl teach me to ensure I always have an antihistamine with me!    At least Mark and Callum have stopped laughing at me!

Hi Jo - I think everyone saved up all their fireworks for last night up here too!! I knew it was too quiet to be true! Next door neighbours son was letting off loads of them, I wouldn't mind but he moved out two years ago! He had a few people around whilst his parents were off sunning themselves on some cruise!! Did Matthew finally manage to get to sleep with all the loud bangs or was he a bit irritable like Lillie for the rest of the night??  Yeah it is sad seeing someone you have known in your life deterioate over the years, thats now three people i know with this terrible disease, just heartbreaking to watch them. Yeah back to work after the New Year - I finished up in Dec'07, can't believe that time has gone so fast!!!!!!! But my timing was rather impecable, as I have not been there to work Xmas and New Year, there are loads of us now with young kids so it will be a lottery as to who works next year! Think it is my turn - boo hoo!!

Hi Jan - This does get a bit addictive eh? Yeah i know what you mean about the job - it's just a bit of a political hot potato! I am looking forward to going back, always love meeting new people and occasionally "repeat customers"!! Only thing is they always remember the midwife and we DONT always remember them! But I do love my job! Ahh well I willl be back to cans of red bull, toast and marmite and handfuls of chocolates on the night shifts! I work 3 shifts short of full time, think you have to be superwoman to work fulltime LOL!! just non-stop! Ha! Lillie is another one who is changing nap times - over the last 3 days she keeps having a very long nap before lunch, then guzzles everything in sight - I wonder if she is trying to drop another bottle??? As her mid morning bottle is getting later and later! What type of yoghurt do you give to Thomas for his lactose intolerance? Can you give little stars/petite filous etc or does it have to be a set kind?

Right I had better post this now as i have been bugged by the phone, the door and my son since I sat down - so much for my bit of peace eh?

    hi everyone,

oh twice in one weekend - addictive or what - lol!

Oh Heather poor you with your allergy - have your eyes gone down yet??  I sometimes get an allergy to dust - if I handle anything that's old and musty I just starting sneezing and get itchy eyes so know how you feel.  Lol at your friends heckler - at last revenge!  They always seem to get away with it so it's so satisfying when they get their comeuppance.   So not long until you go back to work now eh?  Looking forward to it?  Are you going back full or part time?  I bet your job is stressful as well as rewarding though - makes me laugh how the government spout on about improving maternity services and working towards getting enough midwives for one to one care - they certainly are going to have to pump a lot of money into the system to let that happen.  My dh works for the NHS and the department he works in are understaffed - the government go on about how services have improved and I suppose in some areas they have but they certainly need to concentrate on other just as important areas too.

Jo - fireworks driving you mad then?  I heard some going off round us last night and it was chucking it down - must be desperate!!   Know what you mean about me time in the morning - Thomas seems to be going off having a morning nap too - last few mornings I've tried him in his cot but he just screams until I go and fetch him and then he's happy enough so I guess he's just wanting an afternoon nap now - oh well bang goes the hour of getting things done in the morning - lol!! Lactose trial going ok - fingers crossed - started him on yogurt again last Monday and he's now up to 3 tsps a day - going onto 4 tsps today so we'll see what happens as last time it seemed to be the 4 tsps that triggered his sore bum - unless it was the strawberries I'd given him!!

Oh well better go and start some lunch I suppose.  Off to trial the toddler's class tomorrow at Rhythmtime as Thomas moves up in January from baby class and then need to get monthly shop done - ugghh - queues queues queues!!

    Hi to everyone else.

    hi everyone

before i start i just want to get something off my chest .... WHEN WILL THE BLOODY FIREWORKS STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   ahh, that's better

well another mummy & son day. matthews suddenly changed his day time nap to the afternoon so had 7.30am-2pm of non stop mischief - used to quite like my hour "me time" in the morning - lol.  then this afternoon i took matthew out for a nice long walk, stopping at the park on the way back. he's shattered bless him but these flaming fireworks are driving me mad. he goes really quiet as though he's nodded off then there's a huge bang of a firework. wouldn't mind but it's raining now so you'd think no one would bother!!!

jan - nature tots sounds fab - we only have the indoor playgroups near me. maybe a should take matthew out to our local park and have our own nature tot can't wait to hear what thomas gets up to next week   hows thomas sleeping with his cold oh hate taking them for jabs - the last jab matthew had he watched the doctor put it in his leg - then there was huge tears! thanks for the hugs - these two girls at playgroup are friends from baby massage but they're sooooo competitive. normally it doesn't bother me as i think my son is very special, but for some reason i couldn't get there comments out of my head - things like "oh, can matthew only stand up holding on ....."  "can't matthew say any words ....." blah blah blah blah.  anyway enough about pushy mothers - hows the lactose trial going, are you still trying the yoghurts. lol at thomas always banging his head at 3am - what is it with timings - matthew always stirs at 10pm. could put my monthly wages on it. matthew went through a stage when he was about 4 months old of getting his arms stuck through the cot bars!!

heather - how are the eyes??? i have a friend who's the same with cats.  hope they've gone down a bit. i bet lillie thought "whats my mummy done" lol. looove the story of the bmw driver - god i'd have paid to have seen that    ohh how awful for your friend & her mum this is where i believe in authenasia - my brother in laws' mother had motor neurone which was just awful to watch. she died 2 years ago this christmas. i would see her and think "god i wouldn't let my dog suffer like that".  at least your friend can spend some time with her. sorry to have mentioned work - i thought you'd said somewhere earlier that you were back after christmas. i definately think they should be more midwives available. it's the reason why my friend moved from midwifery to hv - she just felt that she couldn't give the right about of care due to being so stretched.

hi to everyone else. hope you're all having a fab weekend - no home fireworks i hope - LOL

    good morning ladies!!

this will make some of you laugh!

i am sitting here with two black swollen eyes!! look like i have done 10 rounds with a boxer!! i went to a candle party last night at my brothers girlfriends flat, only to start sneezing, then my nose started to run, more sneezing, rubbed my eyes, they began to swell. i have pet allergy that must have stepped up a gear last night! i made the vital mistake of touching the dog - who is adorable! normally i stay clear. i got a wee shock at how fast it came on as i had been in he company of a dog earlier in the week! so there is no way i am going outside today!! lol!!

hi jo - bloody peer pressure! don't listen to what anyone else says about matthew, he will do what he needs to do in his own time. look how suddenly he has advanced in standing! (((((big hugs)))) to you! xxx i know exactly how you feel this weekend, i am home alone with lillie too, as mark is working, i sometimes feel i have spent more time on my own at weekends with my children than anyone else! it's a horrible feeling eh?? i am back to work in january and on a countdown now since i visited the unit, yeah we are short staffed too like the rest of the uk, no money in the pot i think, all these health trusts tightening thier budgets! my friends mum took a turn for the worse, she has what seems like end stage alzheimer's and has been in a nursing home for years, so my friend made a dash back up here to be with her mum. all sad but her mum is hanging in there! yeah the road ragers are out in forceup here too. one of my friends saw an absolute cracker - guy with the flashy top of the range bmw, wanted to overtake very quickly on a dangerous part of the motorway - all the traffic began to bunch up and this nasty piece of work kept heckling her and when he eventually got passed he kept cutting her up, speeding up then slamming on his breaks - an utter idiot! then as they came to approch a slip raod and roundabout he was so busy heckling her he never saw the stationary car in front and smashed straight into it!! revenge was sweet that day!!

hi jan - your nature tots group sounded great - thomas is going to love the next group with all that mud! a tots idea of heaven if you ask me!! when i was very young i loved the tambourine and always made a fast s*** for it in music. now it's my mission in life to get one of my hero - tim burgess when he is gigging, as he normally gives his away at the end of a gig   hope thomas's cold gets better soon, know what you mean about them not wanting to let us wipe thier nose, lillie prefers to wipe her own nose - all over me!!! i was wearing a black top during the week when her nose was streaming, what a state it ended up in after she had finished emptying her nose on it!! lol lillie also bangs her head of the headboard too just like your thomas did!

hi angela - do you ever wonder why we have got one child so laid back and the other  fiery? i was having visions of mattie trying not to want to get dressed for his nursery photos in that little cute outfit and just imagined lillie is going to be the same!  glad you had a good night with sally morgan, and what a shame for that poor woman being mistaken as his mum eh??? lol!

well i need to go as the house is shaking - callum has surfaced and is doing his headless chicken routine! he has left his time to get to footy a bit late - his team is not playing today so he is off to see another local match!

take care all and your little darlings xxx

    hi everyone

well went to try out the new nature tots group yesterday after trying last time and they were all out!  Really enjoyed it - made imaginery fireworks from natural materials such as dead teasels etc.  Felt a bit of a plonker though walking through town after with it pinned to the pram - lol!  Had loads of toys there for lo's to play with and we had a sing song afterwards - Thomas made a beeline for a tambourine and sat in the middle of the floor playing it and dancing along - talk about wanting to be the centre of attention - lol.  Next week making mud hedgehogs - ummm - sounds a bit messy to me

Thomas still got his cold - really snotty - keep trying to wipe his nose but he'll have none of it.  Just had a letter from health centre with an appointment for his next lots of injections - 16th Dec - meningitus and hib.  I'm going to have to swap my day at work that week then as they only do Tuesdays at our local practice for babies.

Angela - hope the heads better!  Sounds like you had a good night though - lol ather thinking that woman was the blokes mother not his wife - I would have been so embarrassed!  ooo hope the christmas shopping goes well next week - good idea going in the week - won't be so busy.   Made me laugh about Mattie not liking his clothes for his photo - what we've got to look forward to eh with clothes - bet they'll be wanting designer by the time they're 3 - lol!!

Heather - busy week eh?  Nice to catch up with everyone though.  Lillie sounds so funny - Thomas loves throwing things from his highchair - drives me mad when I'm trying to feed him - just throws them and then looks over the side of the chair as if to say how did that get there?   Ahh that's so cute about your trick and treater - I hope you laughed at the jokes suitably - lol!!  Know what you mean about Lillie shuffling round her cot at night - Thomas is exactly the same - he went through a stage of banging his head accidentally on the headboard always at 3.00am in the morning so I'd have to get and move him back down the cot.   Thankfully that's now stopped!!

Sarah - hope you have a tantrum free weekend!!  Lol at Nelson putting his foot up on the top of the cot rail - oh to be that supple!!  Thomas folds himself in half sometimes and rubs his eyes with his toes!  I think he's made of rubber - lol!

Hi Paula - busy week?  How are things?

Jo - huge hug for you - don't feel down about hearing what other people's lo's can do.  Your Matthew is a unique special little boy and he'll do things in his own time - he's standing now so he's getting there - it doesn't matter how long it takes him he'll get there eventually.   Know it can get you down a bit sometimes though.  Yesterday there was a little boy at nature tots who was more or less Thomas' age and he could walk and was riding round on a train and I was thinking my Thomas can't do that - but then I thought it doesn't matter - he'll get there in his own time and when he does I'll probably think omg can't you just crawl again - lol!!  One day Matthew will probably surprise you and just get up and walk - I know that happened with Thomas and his crawling - it just happened and then there was no looking back!

    hi everyone

hope you're all ok.  bit down tonight, don't know why. think it's because at playgroup today everyone goes on about what their lo's can do and usually ends up with .... "mine can talk"  "well mine can say ceiling" "mine can say "i love you"" and on and on and on and on ..........  then you get "is matthew still not walking", makes me want to shout NOOOOOOOOOOOO.  don't know why it bothers me so much. matthews a happy little boy who's loved loads. doesn't help that ian is on lates today and this weekend. always makes me a bit down when he works at the weekend because everyone else is busy and there's no playgroups. just me and my little gorgeous boy.

angela - how are the fireworks near you now?? it's all started again near us tonight. grrrrr.  hope you had a good night out. ohhh a hotel, would love that lol.  well done losing a pound. it all adds up. keep going ... how much have you lost so far??

sarah - glad you had a good night out with your friend. lol at you trying to get ready - sounds like our house. feel that can't say much about ian at the moment because he was so good last week when i was poorly. lol at your pets names - having a pet and a child is really hard work at times. matthew is particularly interested in charlie at the moment so have to have eyes everywhere. glad nelsons ok with the fireworks - some of them are so loud!!!!

jan - sorry you're friend cancelled. it's disappointing when you've been looking forward to something. now you've finished you're christmas shopping (god you're so organised lol) you'll have to re-arrange soon.  i was really happy to get the take that tickets. did it on line with a lot of patience - this'll be the 4th time i'll have seen them. can't wait - can behave like a teenager and drowl over them - ha ha.   hope thomas doesn't suffer to badly with his cold think we all keep beechams in busines.

heather - LOL at the huge font. will lilies bedroom be done before she's 21??? LOL how long do you think before mark decides to give in? i'd go with the suggestion of moving her cot to marks side wow, what a busy week, it's good to meet up with friends. how's your friends mum now? lol at room 1 - bet you love your job. every day is different and all those happy parents (and parents to be). are you always short staffed - our hospital is awful - can't blame the midwives but they just don't have the time. do you ever attend home births?? when i left with matthew they said i could consider a home birth next time because only had gas & air - don't fancy it much though as all the hospital equipment puts me at ease. don't like to ask - but when are you back?? we have another road rager then they're are some complete idiots on the road - generally men in flash cars.

well, jobs to do - no rest for the wicked

hi to izzy (hope you're ok), paula & linda - god hope i've not missed anyone

    have a great weekend

    Hiya All

Only me again, i had to come back on and do another post before i head off for the weekend. Finally got all the increases calculated for monthly salaries but we've not even started on the weekly ones yet, still the important ones are done, mine being one of them, i'm sure i'd get shot if anyone knew i'd said that LOl

Well i have a very quiet weekend planned after my jaunt last night, oh it was such a good show and i just love Sally Morgan, what a nice lady, she didn't have anyone to come through to me but i was in tears at a few of the readings, but then some were really funny and i was in stitches when she asked a chap if the woman sitting next to him was his mum and he replied that it was his wife, the whole theatre was in uproar but the poor woman was so embarrassed.

Heather you have been so busy, how nice that a few of your friends have visited this week, Ha Lillie sounds so comical when you tell us of her antics, i just know you've got your hands full there. James is very laid back like Callum but i think Mattie takes after me and has got a stinking temper if things don't go his way, i wanted to dress him for his nursery photograph in a lovely shirt and tank top but he kept telling me he didn't like it and screamed his head off, how can a 2 year old not like clothes, i got it on him in the end though   The spin class is the one with the bikes and i also felt like i was going to die on the damn thing but i'm still going back for more next week, mad or what!!

Jan, I can't believe you've finished your christmas shopping and that your actually LIKE wrapping presents, can i send all mine round to yours then, i don't mind a few but it does get a bit tedious after a few gifts. I'm nowhere near finished and it sends me into blind panic when i hear people saying they've finished, still i'm going out with the girls from work next Thursday into Manchester and we're all going Christmas shopping so hope to do a lot of it then. (((hug))) for Thomas with his cold, yep they seem to be a permanent fixture in my house too.

Sarah, i was struggling what to buy Mattie, just bought him bit and bobs to do with Night Garden and his main one is the rocket you got Nelson for his Birthday so i'm not much help, sorry, Mattie's also really into cars so we've got a few car and garage things. Happy shopping next Thursday, at least it'll be quiter than weekend.

    Hi to everyone else.

Well have a great weekend all and see you Monday.

    Hi me again

Was nearly falling asleep at my desk, so opened a window and taking a break.

Angela - Feeling worse for ware then?   Mattie will sort you out later lol!  Glad you had a good time, can't wait to hear about it.  Any of those salary rises yours!

Heather - You have been busy.  Lillie sounds such a live wire, but she's going to walking and talking early.  I had to clear Nelson's cot of just about everything at 6 months, he got up to so much mischief, even now if his playing up and won't have a nap, he will trash his cot, he throws everything out including pillows and blankets!  I think he was trying to get to his nappies the other day, which were hung in a nappy holder hanging on the side of the cot, but instead of putting his arm threw the bars and pulling them out, as usual,  I think he leaned over, he broke the nappy hanger thingy anyway.  Still haven't taken the side off, I'll see what happens, but he can get one foot on the top of the rail now (then he gets stuck and yells lol!), so I suppose I'm going to have to give in soon.  They are sweet at this age and so funny and still young enough to treat as a baby sometimes (when he lets me), could do without the mega trantrum though!

Well suppose I'd better finish my work, only an hour and a bit to go.  Not got anything planned for the weekend.  Have nice one everyone.

Hi Jo – How is your stomach bug now?? You sounded really ill!!! Good boy Matthew for standing up! I had a feeling he was practicing on his own when no one was looking eh?!! Lillie is doing the one handed holding on to the sofa routine at the moment! She doesn’t quite have the power in her little legs to walk unaided yet! She gets so frustrated and throws a typical girlie hissy fit!! LOL funnily enough it was room 1 too that was significant when I had Lillie and my waters broke too, both times, but was in running or should I say fast waddle distance from our toilet!! Yeah it was wierd being there last week– kept thinking I could be in there, on my first day back!! LOL!! You were talking about that programme about fish and chips to a one year old – it was a chips that this young mum was giving her what looked like a 10 month old, and there was Lillie eating her homemade minestronie soup (I can pack that full of veggies for next to nothing!).Nice to know I am not the only one who takes a new identity behind the wheel Lol!! I just treat every other car user on the road as  potentially lethal – present company excluded LOL!! I must live in the land of the roundabouts, with the amount of drivers who have “broken indicators”, if you know what I mean! The rush hour our neck of the woods is horrendous too – once a boat got stuck on the Forth Road Bridge (yes a boat!), it fell of its trailer and caused 6 hours of motorway standstill! That went down like a lead balloon with the homecoming commuters that night!>>

Hi Angela – Awww what a lovely day your Nan had then! Bless her! Is the spin class the one with the bikes??? If it is, you are one brave lady! I did it once and never again! I thought i was going to die but didn’t want to look stupid and just stop! My friend and I just collapsed in a heap guzzling all our water once we got out! I suppose Satan was just getting you all motivated then eh?? LOL!! How did you get on with Sally Morgan – ooooh I love all that psychic stuff!!>>

Hi Jan – I cannot believe you have done all your Christmas shopping – I haven’t even started yet, you are sooooo good! I know what i am getting everyone, I just need to get out there in amongst the packed shopping malls – you wouldn’t think there was a credit crunch on at the moment the way people are buying! I was at our local garden centre yesterday and that was mobbed too!! Lillie had a streaming nose too, it was on Tuesday, it only lasted 24 hours thank goodness, but I thought at the time, oh oh here we go I will get another cold from her! And no sign of me getting it either! Yippee!>>

Goodness I have been so busy this week, and there was me thinking that I was in for a boring quiet week! Monday was when it all kicked off – phone started to go on Monday from friends that hadn’t been in touch with for ages – always nice eh? So arranged to meet up during the week, then in amongst that my best friend from Kent who’s parents still live up here, dropped in unexpectedly as her mum is really ill! So with one thing and another, yes it’s been a busy one! Either a feast or a famine eh?>>

Lillie has been her usual wild self – She has taken to throwing things from a height and taking great delight watching them fall, all her toys out of her cot, her playpen and over the back of the  sofas. She has also started to shuffle around in her sleep which is driving me up the wall!, Mark is now getting non stop earache about her bedroopm !!  She also had her first encounter with a dog – one of my friends has a spaniel that is so used to babies and children, Lillie just wanted to cuddle and laugh at it! >>

Anyone want a huge bag of Haribo’s! – we had only ONE little person who came came to the door on Halloween, told a handful of jokes and then left with his bucket laiden with sweets! Callum has eaten the mutipacks of chocolate bars and slowly getting threw the others. Still can’t beleive it was so quiet here, even bonfire night was peaceful!! Eeerie!!>>

Hi sarah – The one thing I have been worrying about Lillie is the one thing that your Nelson has done – jumped out of the cot!!! Bet your heart jumped in your mouth?? I just know my little darling is going to do the same one day!! Callum always “asked” to get out of his cot, again showing his laid back, horizontal, placid style!! Ahhh Newport Pagnell – we used to stop at the services there, it was always our first stop for breekie when we drove up to Scotland when we lived in London! That’s as about as near to Milton Keynes as I have ever  been.  It’s just weird seeing all the fields getting eaten up by leisure centres, shopping centres and housing eh??? They turned one of my favoutire stretches of road up here into a housing area – it was a back road that you could bomb up and down on, two big hills that took your stomach away when you drove over the top!! LOL!! So Nelson has named the toilet , the loo! Wait until he starts shouting “mum I have done a poo!” and armed with toilet roll, you end up having to do what you need to do! Oh god I have all this to go back to now LOL!! I just loved Callum at the age your Nelson is at!!>>

    Hi

Oh so quiet on here this week you could hear a pin drop.

Nearly had another tantrum last night but quickly averted with 'Bear'.  Think his getting frustrated trying to communicate what he wants, never mind he'll get there.

Finding it really hard to think of something to get him for Xmas, his not interested in much.

Jan - Nice to hear form you.  Shame about your friend, hope her lo was OK.  Know how it feels been trying to meet up with my other friend who's just had a baby, but haven't made it yet recently what with working and colds.  Going to start my Xmas shopping for real next week, I have Thursday off and going shopping with my sister and niece, should be fun with Nelson in tow.

Angela - Hope you had a good night last night, guessing your not in work today.

Well hope everyone has a good weekend.

    Hi girls!

God I've been so busy this week - up to my eyes in working from home!!   Was supposed to see a friend yesterday afternoon as well but she cancelled as she got a call from the nursery where her little boy goes to say he'd got a temperature.  Was so disappointed as I haven't seen her for a while so was looking forward to catching up -- never mind will have to rearrange.    So went and finished off my Christmas shopping instead - yep you read right - I've finished - yippee!!!  Just got to wrap everything now - I actually enjoy wrapping the pressies though - it's all the card writing that drives me mad.  Thomas has got yet another cold - nose is streaming poor little thing - suppose I'll get it next .  Am keeping Beechams in business I think - lol!  Anyway time to catch up.

Jo - that's awful about your the fence being kicked in at your parents other house.  Some people have no consideration at all - it really annoys me - hopefully they'll get their comeuppance though.  We didn't get any trick or treaters because we decided to go out - lol!!!  Well done to Matthew for standing up - I bet you're a proud mommy!  Thomas has just started to cling onto the side of things over the last week or so, so I'm expecting any day now he's going to start trying to pull himself up.   Oh lucky you getting tickets for Take That - heard they sold out in record time.  Have you been to see them before?  They put on a brilliant show - you'll love it.

Sarah - just one knock at the door last Friday then - that was good going.  Lol at Jasper wanting the sweets to himself!  Oh poor Nelson falling out of his cot - Thomas was pulling himself up last night while I was reading his bedtime story - he's still got his mobile on the cot and I keep meaning to take it off as he's always reaching up for the animals on it.   Glad you had a good curry last night - yummy.  Ooo feel for your friend and the morning sickness - can remember what that was like - mind you didn't get it too bad compared to some people but was so glad when the first 3 months were over.

Angela - glad your nan had a lovely birthday - lol at Mattie handing the lady in the next chair the gift bag.   You made me laugh calling the guy that took your spin class satan.  You've made me remember when I used to go to aerobics with a friend - a very long time ago.  The woman taking the class used to come round us all while we were doing our warm up stretches and if we weren't stretching enough she'd come up to you and press down on your leg/arm or whatever you were stretching at the time - agggh - used to be crippled by the end of it - lol.  Have a good psychic night tonight!

Well we didn't have many fireworks round here last night - few pops and bangs but that was it - there was a bonfire in the next village on Tues night but didn't got to it - don't think Thomas would be too impressed with fireworks at the moment - maybe next year.

Hi to Heather, Linda, Izzy, Paula and anyone else I've missed!    If I don't get chance to come on tomorrow have a good weekend everyone and speak next week.

    Hi

Nelson a lot better last night, Leanne had managed to get him to have a 2 hour nap and he was a different boy.  See what tonight brings?

It was so nice last night coming home and not having to cook.  Although I was trying to get ready to go out and Jasp was sorting Nelson out, I still ended up doing most of it, like Jasp was bathing Nelson and I was putting some make up on in the bedroom, all I could hear from the bathroom was 'mummy, mummy, mummy, mummy......', then I had to dress him, he hates getting dressed after a bath, so I may as well just done it all myself.  Anyway had a nice curry and I'm glad I caught up with my friend, oh the morning sickness is just starting to kick in! (Not that I know what that's like, never had any!)

Loads of fireworks round our way too, but Nelson just not bothered about the noise.  Not surprised his the type of lad who pop's balloons for fun and doesn't even flinch.

Angela - Aww poor Mattie, (((hug))) not liking the fireworks, mummy was there though.  Have a nice time tonight, wouldn't mind seeing a psychic show, enjoy your Chinese, you'll have to work even harder to get the pounds off after that and the wine!  But what the hay you have to relax some of the time.  Are you still at work tomorrow?  Know how it is with interruptions, I started this an hour ago!

Jo - Well done to Matthew for his standing, his starting to get the idea.  And ((hugs)) to him as well about the fireworks.  Wanted to get Nelson a sparkler but grumpy daddy was too tight.  I used to hate fireworks time when I had animals, the cat (Poindexter Pussycat) particularly hated them and it seamed that everyone was letting them off for a fortnight.  Our dog (Stinky Stanley Dumbnuts)  wasn't bothered, but nothing bothered him.  Think Nelson would love a cat, or meows as he calls them, and thought about getting another, but him and cat litter, no way.  We'll get another dog when his older.  Couldn't cope with both at the moment, my downstairs is open plan and I would have no where to shut a dog in.

Anyway now I've eventually finished better to do some work.

    Hi All

Bit of a rushed post because i'm so busy today, lots on. Can't wait for later, i'm going to see "Sally Morgan - Psychic to the Stars" tonight at the Palace Theatre, having a meal first then going for a few wines after the show and staying in a hotel down the road from hereso should be a nice night out, hope Brians okay with Mattie though, the fireworks didn't go down well with him last night and he was awake ages and i had to lie with him because they were so loud.

Jo, Have to say well done Matthew, what a clever little boy, just wait now Jo, he'll be practicing no end, aw big ((hug)) for you and Matthew. I agree the fireworks were terrible last night, i think the noise died down here about 10 o clock which is just mad for a week night.

Sarah, Hope the night out was a nice break for you, i think you need it, How was the curry, think we're going Chinese tonight, only because it's better for my diet, would love to tuck into a curry. Hope there were no major traumas for Jasper last night.

    Will pop on later.

    hi everyone

before i go into the annoying fireworks ...... i have to share a proud mummy moment with you.

today - whilst i was in work - ian phoned to say that matthew stood up!!!!!!!  yipeeeeee

ian was off today and had matthew in the bathroom with him while he was brushing his teeth - when he turned round matthew was stood up holding onto the bath !!!!!!!  so proud of him (matthew that is lol) because he has never shown any interest in standing before - ever   so today ian has had him standing up next to the sofa and letting go. he stands for a few seconds, wobbles then down onto his bottom - haha. sorry to go on but just can't believe it - really really really happy

anyway, fireworks - oh my god.  too loud - took matthew over an hour to go to sleep tonight because of the noise. and poor charlie (the dog) is terrified

sarah - feel that you need some hugs ... so (((hugs))) to you. hope you have a good night out and enjoy your curry in piece.   matthew is a nightmare if he doesn't have a nap. he can yawn after only being out of bed 2 hours but don't normally put him down until about 11 - then he has about an hour, but thats all he'll have in the day - so come 6ish he starts getting really grumpy.  lol i bought toddler taming in asda when it was half price. bought it because matthew has started grinding his teeth (which is horrendous) but all it said in the book was that it could be a sign of disabilities - so put the book down and not read it again!!!  couldn't believe it when they changed the time of "bear", plus he liked "harry and his bucket ......" which was on just before it !! we do have 2 dvd's of "bear" so we put that on now before bed. he has to wave night night to bear as we leave the room (melts my heart).

angela - no firework displays tonight (other than what i can see through the windows) ian's gone to the pub to watch utd so it's me, the tv, laptop & charlie. did buy some sparklers and showed them matthew in the back garden. he thought they were really funny.  LOL at you swearing at me when stuck in the traffic.  we'd be posting on here about some stupid woman and talking about each other i have terrible road rage and have real anger issues when i'm stuck in work traffic - in fact any kind of traffic, particularly living so close to the trafford centre!! i keep thinking that when matthews older i'm going to have to watch my "p's" and "q's"

well, the fireworks seem to have calmed down a but so going to risk having a shower.

hi to everyone else - happy bonfire night - closest i could find to a firework

    xx jo xx

    Hi All

Oh yes very quiet Anyone going to any fireworks party tonight, i've decided to give it a miss as i'm out with my friend tomorrow overnight and Matties not that keen on the things anyway, maybe next year.

Mattie has another extra day in nursery today as Brian's mum is going for a gynie check up, think she'll end up having an op but don't want to think about that yet and the upheavel it would cause.

Sarah, Well you wont be taking Nelson out to any bonfires, how nice going for a curry. Well enjoy your night out and take full advantage and relish in the knowledge that it's Jaspers turn to struggle with looking after Nelson and doing tea, bath and bed, I know i will when it's Brians turn tomorrow.

Oh how upset must you have been when he sobbed sorry mummy, aw bless him, theres just nothing owrse when they're tired and like you said if he won't go down for her he won't go, i know Matties so nosey and wants to be in on everything but he can only take so much and like you said has an almighty paddy, i am glad he has the routine of nursery with the sleep and what have you but it is expensive and if i had somebody like leanne i propbably wouldn't send him either. Don't worry about pre-school, he'll probably surprise you and just take to it like a duck to water and he'll be more ready for it then as well. Have a great night!

Jo, bet you really missed Matthew yesterday then getting home so late, i heard about the road in Stretford on the Travel news and thought of you, it would be funny if we were in the same jam and i ended up swearing at you as i do at some drivers sometimes i know i shouldn't do the roadrage thing but sometimes i just can't help it when people cut in front of me and i've waited in the queue. My boss is having radiotherapy for three weeks and he's only just started it so he's okay at the minute but doesn't think he'll be in towards the end of next week as it starts to take it's toll then.

Well better go, i've been interupted a thousand times already, don't they know how important this is, Lol.

    Hi to everyone else
