Hi
Another pretty stressful evening - Nelson never slept all day again yesterday, this time he was in a naughty mood anything to grate on you, banging doors etc. Only not long after getting home a simple thing like daddy undoing a fruity bar wrapper , when he wanted to try himself, sent him over the edge. Another hysteria fit, it's not just a tantrum, these ones he has when his tired and he can't calm himself down, even 'bear' didn't work last night. He even tried saying 'sorry mummy' through the tears and he had real tears, not very often that happens with my little man. So I ended up putting him to bed an hour early, with no bath, he just managed to calm down for his milk and a story and then out like a light. Lucky Leanne now gives him his tea or he wouldn't have even eaten. Leanne only has him this afternoon, so she will try her best to get him to sleep, but if he won't go theres nothing you can do. Thought he might be up early this morning but wasn't too bad, but he did wake a couple time in the night. His got really bad nappy rash again too, don't know where that has come from his not teething, the only thing I can think of is the wet/dry feel nappies I'd been trying.
Anyway his Jasp's problem tonight, I'm going out for a curry with my friend who's pregnant. I'm driving so no boozy woozy then. But it will get me out the house for an evening for a change. Pay back time for Jasp, when I eventually had enough last night and said I'm gong to put Nelson to bed now, all I asked Jasp to do was finished off the sausages under the grill, you ought to have seen he his face and I can't believe a man of his age would actually say 'how would I know when their cooked?' It's not rocket science!
Angela - laughed at Mattie tapping you on the head when your asleep, I can see that happening with Nelson, him poking me in the eye and me waking with a start. Re read a bit of the the book 'Toddler Taming' (my bible, trying to find solution for above, but found nothing to help) and got an idea for the door upstairs, door wedges, so simple, wedge the bloody doors shut. Sounds like Mattie is starting to get the idea of the toilet. Nelson quite good I always sit him on the toilet when cleaning his teeth before his bath and he quite often has wee wee, he likes that I give him a piece of toilet paper afterwards and he wipes and puts it in the toilet, that's his reward lol! We need to concentrate on potty training, as he keeps telling us when his going to go now. Sometimes I wonder whether whether Nelson would benefit from a nursery, as he can be clingy (dreading pre-school next year) and would like the routine, plus bring his language on, but it's so expensive round here and he loves Leanne. It's hard to know whats right. Your boss is brave coming into work in the morning doesn't his treatment knock him for six? Neil (my MD) was saying about coming in this week, until we said it wasn;t a good idea, because of all the germs going round this place at the moment. It seams his lost even more weight, so he must be a walking skeleton by now! Oh and Angela you must be so fit compared to me, I get out of breath just thinking about exercise lol!
Jo - Look what you have o look forward to, massive tantrums lol! I hate traffic jams luckily I miss most, as like you I leave at 4.30pm. Besides there are only a few bottle neck in MK but they usually in the opposite direction to me, so I whizz past them. Working in Newport Pagnell the M1 junction is only up the road and shortest route would be to go over it, but I always avoid like the plague, especially at the moment as there's roadworks up there. Bet Matthew was pleased to see you though. Never understood why they put 'Bear' on so late, it's even on later than that too, caught at a bout 9pmish once whe

hi everyone
gosh, very quiet on here today. i was expecting another 10 posts

well been on a training course all day and didn't finish unitl 5pm and traffic was horrendous so didn't get to pick up matthew until 6pm. only had an hour with him before bed

not a lot else has happened really - oh, except ..... WHY have the moved "bear in the big blue house" from 7pm to 7.30pm !!!! just not good enough. matthew watches "bear" just before bed and waves night night to him but now i have to put the dvd on because there's no way he'd keep his eyes open until 7.30pm

sarah - lol at nelson calling the toilet "the loo". could be worse, could be "the bog" LOL looks like you'll have to trust nelson to not get out of bed at night - love reading about nelson, mattie and maxim because it shows me whats ahead
let us know how you get on with it all. can't wait to hear. had a thought about nelson getting up in the morning and jasp .... you could get nelson to go into your bedroom and jump all over daddy lol - mind you you'd have to watch for any injuries, you've been there before!!!angela - had to laugh at your gym story before reading it all .. love the "satan" instructor - ha ha. oh my god, you do the mancunian way - horrendous! tonight traffic was a road closed in stretford which caused complete mayhem. i'd laugh if we were ever in a traffic jam next to each other but didn't know
i come down deansgate then onto old trafford. thanks for the ((hugs)) and comments on matthew & my mum & dad. you're right and they do spoil him. they've been waiting a long time for grandchildren and now my brothers girlfriend is pregnant which means they'll have two grandchildren in 2 years lol. hope you're keeping sane in work at the moment. how long does your boss have to have treatment for??well off to get some more beauty sleep
hi to everyone else - hope you & your lo's are well

Hi All
I've turned into an afternoon poster now as my boss is having his radiotherapy in the afternoon so the mornings are a bit hectic at the minute.
Well girlies i must tell you that i went to the gym last night and decided to do the spin class i've done a few times, but it was a new guy taking the class, i didn't quite catch his name but i'll call him satan. I nearly passed out half way through the 45 minutes of sheer hell through exhaustion but hey, here i am today and guess what, i cant walk, sit or stand without pain
ah well i better have lost some weight tomorrow after all that sweating.Jo, glad you're feeling a bit better, and you dragged yourself into work you brave person you. I can understand Matthew being the apple of your Dads eye, he must be so proud of him, i bet your Mum and Dad dote on him when they mind him for you, aww ((hug)) for not seeing him much today, i know how that feels, hope the course went well though, as for the traffic, i hit the nightmare that is the mancunian way every night at about 5 past 5 and it's horrendous, i always think if only i could go home a bit earlier but the powers that be won't agree to flexi time. I bet the fireworks at the Trafford were loud, louder than the school anyway, yeah i always wonder where people get there money from to just let off fireworks whenever they feel like it, they cost a fortune. That's awful about your Mum and Dads fence, some kids just have no respect, they'd think again if they were made to pay for it.
Sarah, Lol at Nelson saying 'the loo' thats what i call it too but Mattie keeps saying toilet and pulling his pants down at the minute, i think he's got this from nursery, but i put him on it and he does nothing but maybe he is getting ready, fingers crossed. Know what you mean about heading out of the bedroom and into things they shouldn't but Mattie comes and stands beside me on the rare occaison i've still been asleep and taps me on the head until i open my eyes, never Brian though, always me. Mattie has a sleep at nursery, they have a bit of a routine where they go down for a nap after lunch for an hour and it really suits him but when he's at home he's like a duracell battery and just keeps on going and then he gets overtired and can't cope with it. On Sunday at football he was running around with the other kids and we didn't get home until 3.30, he was absolutely shattered poor little lamb, i couldn't stop him having a nap and then at bedtime he was like this wild child, so i still can't get it right.
Hi to everyone else, where are you all!!

Hiya
Well can't pretend we're posh anymore, Nelson taken to calling the toilet 'the loo' and very proud of himself with it. Suppose it could be worse!
Jo - Glad your starting to feel better and good luck with your course today. It's horrible when you work later than usual, throws your whole evening out. Laughed at Matthew feeding himself, my poor dining room carpet, I only had it laid just before Nelson was born and you ought to see now! He still drops food, so waiting a bit longer before having it cleaned, luckily it's scotch guarded. I put a splash mat down under his high chair too. The trouble about putting a gate on his door, is complicated, his in the little box room for the moment and it has a slope in it from the stairs. When Jasp did his room up he boxed it in and it made a lovely changing table, but it is behind the door which opens in wards and I know, mainly because he does now, Nelson would just bang the door against it continuously to get us up and probably the whole street.
Angela - Glad your Nan's birthday went well and she was spoilt, old people always love the little one's. I'm sure Nelson would be fine going down at bedtime, as he never has any trouble going off to sleep and even if he wakes at night, I'm sure he'd be like Mattie and scream and wait for me. It's the mornings - at the moment he is waking before me and once he realises he can get out by himself, I can just see him heading for the delights of the bathroom!!!!!!!!!! :O Plus he a mare already trying to get him to have a day time nap. Does Mattie still nap during the day, Nelson's are getting fewer and fewer now. He didn't sleep yesterday and he was so tired and emotional in the evening, everything was setting him off and all he wanted to do was cuddle me while I was trying to do tea. Did Jasp help, did he f...
Hi to everyone else, busy today so better get back to it
3/11/08 22:33
hi everyone
hope you all had a good weekend. just a quicky because off to bed in a minute. starting to feel more human again but appetite not back completely yet. just rested this weekend (well as much as possible with a 15 month old lol).
i was letting matthew spoon feed himself yesterday - thats good for me because hate mess - it ended up everywhere but he knew what to do so really pleased. just need to get over my phobia of food everywhere!!!
no sackings today
but a busy day. on a course all day tomorrow so working 9-5 which means a horrendous journey home (normally finish at 4.30). my mum is giving matthew his dinner & tea and i'll probably only see him for an hour tomorrow
sarah - you lucky thing having rain on halloween lol. it was dry but cold here and put a note on the door but had two callers before then - didn't open the door as matthew was just going to bed. my mum & dad had a nightmare though when their fence panel was kicked in!!!!! long story but they have another house my brother used to live in (i'll tell the story again) and the house is empty at the moment. well the neighbours there have a teenager and he answered the door to some trick or treaters and he told them to "get lost" so they kicked in the adjoining fence panel !!!! nice i've also heard of people who had eggs thrown at their cars - god sounds like we live in a really rough area .... it's not - haha. have you thought about putting everything in nelsons room out of reach and putting a gate on his door - thats what someone at work does with their 3 year old daughter, otherwise she's out of her bedroom at 3am!!!
angela - glad you had a good day off on friday
everytime i read about you going to football i keep thinking that could be me in a few years - brrrrr. sounds like your nan got treated like royalty on her birthday. bet she loved it
thanks for the comments about matthew and great grandparents. my dad is adopted and his mother didn't have her own children. she would have looooved matthew. my dad has a HUGE soft spot for him because the only blood relatives he has his me and my brother - so matthew is another one for him. he'll be able to twist my dad around his little finger. oh my god ... don't talk about fireworks .... the trafford centre had their display last night and it was sooo loud and went forever. that'll be it for us here now, they'll be fireworks every night until new year. i don't mind a little firework but some people literally must have money to burn!!!well off for my beauty sleep .. zzzzzz
hi to heather, izzy, jan, paula & linda (hope i haven't missed anyone

Oh Bummer, didn't save it and can't remember what i wrote now, i knew i should have split it. Have to cut it short now cos ran out of time,

Paula, Hi glad you popped back on, i know what Jo means about Alfies photo he really is so cute, I think Mattie started with finger foods about six or seven months and he loved breadsticks, rusks and toasted soldiers.
Linda Hi Hope you enjoyed your halloween party. What a shame i didn't think of a fleecy blanket for my Nan, she's always freezing even though it's 90 degrees in the home, Don't know about my hectic lifestyle your course sounds mind blowing, good luck!
Izzy, dont be too disappointed missing out on Halloween and Bonfire night, it's all over rated anyway. I put Mattie to bed on Saturday night and there was a Bonfire Party going on at the local school down the road, it took ages for him to drop off because some of the fireworks sounded like blinking bombs going off.
Anyway back to work, sorry it's not as detailed as the first bit but it was originally.

Hi All
What a busy weekend, both at home and on here. Had a lovely day on Friday, as Brian was off as well so we all went into wigan shopping and had lunch, Brian treated us all and i got a new pair of gloves, which i really needed at football this weekend as it was blooming freezing.
Me and Mattie went to visit my Nan on Saturday, we sang happy birthday to her when she walked in the room, (been to the loo so we waited and waited
), then she opened her pressies, Mattie felt that the lady in the chair next to her needed a pressie too so he picked up my gift bag and gave it to her. Then the carers brought out a birthday cake with one candle on, they didn't want to set the place on fire!) and we sang happy birthday again and Mattie blew out the candle for Nan. All in all she had a great day, bought her some choccies in the end which got passed round all the oldies but she also had flowers, slippers and a cardigan so she didn't do too bad.We had one trick or treater on Friday for Halloween so i've got a great big of sweeties in the fridge, took loads to football yesterday to try and get rid of them because i really don't need the temptation.
Sarah, oh thank goodness Jasp's in the clear, bet you were both worried out your minds, no wonder he slept like a log after all the worry. Well done on selling the zebra, if you really miss it i'll send you mine, it's taking up far too much room in the dining room, know what you mean about the pattern on the carpet from the base. Ouch for Nelson falling out of his cot, i did worry about Mattie getting out of bed when he went in his but he never does, if he wakes up in the night he sits there and cries and in the morning i'm usually awake before him anyway so he's not bad. Nelson might just surprise you.
Jo, aww (((hugs))), you did end up with that bug after all, well at least you were well looked after, they do come up trumps when they need to don't they. Good old Auntie taking Matthew out while Ian was at football, Gosh your house sounds like it's been blitzed of germs to the max, just hope it's enough to stop Matthew getting it, it sounds like a real stinker. Yeah I'm sure your grandparents would have loved Matthew, few things make my Nan smile but Mattie can always get a smile from her, my mum and dad were young when they had us four so i had both Nans up to being 23 and i feel really lucky that my dads mum is still here, she only had my dad as she had to have a hysterectomy straight after him but she didn't do bad in that she then had four grandchildren and eleven great grand children, she had a stroke three years ago but up to then was really active and did shopping for all the neighbours on her street. Oooh can't believe you got Take That tickets, i saw Robbie at Old Trafford Cricket Ground and it's such a fantastic atmosphere, might try and get tickets from work, still have to pay but they should be good seats, we'll see.
Heather, your house on halloween must have looked great, we usually get a pumpkin but i left it too late this year and they'd sold out everywhere. I love pumpkin soup and might make some, you've got me going on it and it's no sins on my diet so hope i can get my hands on one now, have to make sure it's a biggish one if theres not much in them though, had to laugh at you with the oven at the ready. Bet all your workmates loved cooing over Lillie did she charm their socks off, how lovely that you're reminded of where she was born when you go to work, kind of makes up for being there when you go back i bet.
Jan, Lol at you disinfecting all the toys your workmate gave you, you can't be too careful though. I read about the fast food addicts, i do give Mattie Macdonalds every now and then but he's more of a sunday roast kid anyway as he loves his veggies and meat without breadcrumbs on, such a shame that some young mums don't care what their lo's eat but half of them will have b

Hi everyone
Well not too bad Friday night, just one knock at the door, while I was running Nelson's bath and Jasp didn't open it. I did actually buy some sweets just in case we got caught, think Jasp wanted them all to himself lol! Think the wet weather put most off.
Saturday night it absolutely chucked it down with rain and I could still hear fireworks going off all night. Luckily Nelson sleeps through most things. They had a big display up the Centre of MK last night and we live some distance from it but when you opened the door you could smell them.
Nelson frightened us yesterday, put him down for a nap and he didn't like it, so played up a bit and I heard this almighty thud and a scream, luckily I was only in our bedroom and he'd managed to chuck himself out of the cot, I found him lying on the floor screaming poor might, his now got a big owie over his right eye. I suppose this means I need to take the side off the cot, oh bugger! Leanne said she has a rail I can have, but I still don't like the idea of him being able to get out bed at anytime. He was awake early this morning and I heard him nattering to himself but I chanced it and left him there a while I needed to get ready in peace (not easy putting make up on with a 2 year old your knee, trying to touch everything) I felt so tense though.

Nelson and seam better on the cold but Jasp now coming down with it, oh joy!
Jo - Hope your feeling better, at least Ian helped you out when you needed it, sounds like he was really good. Take it easy for a day or two or three or four lol! Know what you mean about knowing whether the lo's are teething or ill. Nelson always seamed to get ill when teething, think one causes the other. Nelson fine with medicine, his had so much of it, but find using s syringe the best.
Heather - You mentioned the Leisure Park near you, that is just a tester of what it's likes round here. I am a Bletchley born and bread girl and I have watched MK literally grow around us. Bletchley is in the south and I work in Newport Pagnell in the North, about 10 miles apart, when I was young there would have been nothing but country side in between the towns, now it is all built up. Every time time you turn round something else and been built.
Jan - Hope you weren't bothered too much with Trick or Treaters.
Angela - How'd your time off with the boys go, back to school this week. How was your Nan?
Hope everyone else had a good weekend, Izzy, Paula and Linda

heather .... i remember watching a programme on britains fattest babies and there was a mother giving her 1 year old fish & chips from the chippie!!!
loooooved wimpy when i was younger - remember the round sausages - then macdonalds arrived and my mum & dad would take us as a very special treat. not like these days when kids seem to be there all the time. plus how can you always know what they're spending their pocket money on. sundays were always quite boring as well, i remember, because all the shops were shut and there was no where to go. how times have changed.jan - we're all recovering from various illness thanks. been a bit of a rough week but hopefully seen the back of it all now. i was saying earlier that when you have a child teething it's hard to know whats teeth and whats illness. you're right stopping the yoghurt for a bit. wanted to ask about how thomas got diagnosed because it tooks us 5 different sorts of milk before matthew settled and no one would take it all seriously. spoke to gp and he just gave us gaviscon which did nothing, also had the infacol which bunged him up then had colief which again i don't believe actually did anything. you were really lucky with your gp - it's hard when you know something is wrong but need it confirmed. good luck with the yoghurts. i'll loook out for some cheap chester zoo tickets - thanks.
linda - ((hugs)) to you for lo sleeping in own room. i remember matthew moving into his own room when he was about 11 weeks (he was getting far to big for his moses basket). i didn't sleep all night, then there was the trauma of him sleeping on his side (more sleepless nights for me), then he started sleeping on his tummy!!! eventually he also learnt how to turn his mobile on so we had nights where we'd hear "incy wincy spider" at 3am!! lol - all good fun though and he settled so much better in his own room than with us. he's a really light sleeper - can't even get the vac out in the day when he's having a nap because it wakes him up! did you see the news about 13 virgin staff getting sacked for comments they made on facebook - you've got to be daft or silly to s*** off the company you work for and it's passengers on such a public website! hope the training goes well - how are you feeling about it all??
hope you all have a great weekend

hi everyone
i'm slowly getting back to the land of the living. this bug has completely zapped my energy - and for all i say about ian he has been an absolute star
he rang work yesterday and managed to get the day off (there was no way i could have looked after matthew), then today he took matthew and went food shopping (a few little error buys) lol.anyway, this afternoon ian's sister wanted matthew for a couple of hours which has turned out well because he's gone to the football to watch united so i've managed to go round the whole house again cleaning door handles, remote controls, phones etc. my house must be germ free by now!!!
sounds like we all have the same idea for stopping little witches & ghosts knocking on our doors - did it last year and last night and seemed to work. the problem is that the kids are now teenages and too old to trick or treat!!
izzy - no rest for the wicked hey!! hope things calm down soon. the work issues have been a nightmare at the moment. they're all on a probation contract which makes life i little easier. we used to interview ourselves but now our hr department do it. like you said though, it's amazing how someone at an interview can be totally different when they start. i remember years ago when someone started (on another team) and a manager questioned the new starter as they didn't recognise the face but knew the name - turns out the guy had sent his brother to the interview!!!
sarah - how did the selling go???? i'll keep my eye out for those nasty fang teeth - don't like the sound of those
that's the problem at the moment, just don't know what's teeth and whats illness!!!!! always best to get them checked out though. matthew been a nightmare with his medicine but found that if you give him the medicine top and let him try and put it back on the bottle it distracts him from actually having the medicine. just need a distraction for teeth brushing now lol. glad jasps tests were ok - you'll have to tell nelson when he's older what his dad went through lol.angela - happy birthday to your nan - 88 is a fantastic age. i don't have any grandparents left now, they'd have loved matthew as well. i'm sure they're watching over him though. your sil sounds like a diamond. i have one really nice one and one who's more interested in what new benefits she can get (wont go into it now as just winds me up). fantastic news on the weight loss - better to lose a bit than non at all

paula - you're pciture of alfie always makes me smile
happy 6 months
i started matthew on toast cut into triangle (a hv tip) because they're triangles they can't put the whole lot in all at once lol. i also used country life unsalted butter. matthew never really been a fan of fruit as finger food but will have it in custard. the other tip i got from a friends was bread sticks - they're really good for when they're teething.heather - i bet you got some lovely comments in work about lillie - i couldn't tell you what room matthew was born in but remember i was in room 1 afterwards. it was very strange going back there to see my friend and her little boy in august. felt quite nervous just stood at the doors (mind you the last time i'd stood there by waters broke and literally soaked my clothes - all in front of the cleaner lol). wanted to stop by at room 1 to see if i could pick up my brains that i'd left there but someone else was in that bed!!) well done lillie with her drinking, thats famtastic. hope your brother has now got the fright he needed and can sort himself out. meant to ask - hows lillies bedroom coming along .... hope the boys are at home this weekend helping you. i hate seeing children eating macdonalds
1/11/08 15:39
Aw just popped on here to have a quick read and see you're not well Jo - hugsss - GET WELL SOON!!!
Heather - that pumpkin soup sounded so nice that you were going to make as well -
- never mind saved you a job eh? Jan.
31/10/08 16:26
Just popped back before I leave for home - Just wanted to say I hope you feel better soon Jo, poor you, I would hate to get that bug, especially with a little one about.
Nelson had the bad one at the beginning of the year and luckily both Jasp & I missed out on it, I had to take him to hospital with it, he was so bad. I washed my hands so much they were sore for a month after.
Have a nice weekend everyone.

hi everyone
only a quicky today to wish everyone "happy halloween" - i started with the stomach bug last night (badly) and ended up ringing ian to ask him to come home (he was on lates) - then he had a lot of clearing up to do where i didn't make it to the kitchen sink (sorry tmi). haven't felt this rough for a long time.
on a lighter note - i managed to book my take that tickets this morning. going on tuesday 23rd june - yipee

well, just sat in bed - not got up all day - and going to try and get 40 winks as didn't sleep at all last night - bedroom looks like a hospital with towels/buckets etc.
hope everyone else is ok xxxxxxx will try and catch up tomorrow xxxxx

Why did bounty edit a completely innocent word? - I was making the edges of the pumpkin neat and tidy! Honestly!!
Right, I am off to find some tea lights to put in the damn thing now!!

31/10/08 15:24
hi ladies!!
well the pumpkin is carved and so is my hand - it is only a little nick like a paper cut lol!! knife slipped as i was tr*** the edges!! wooops!! we have always had the lantern in the window or doorway for hallows eve but before america had us carving up pumpkins (they are much easier) we always used large swedes (or neeps as the locals call them!) now they are guaranteed to break your hands as it takes forever to dig out the insides! my dad always did this job! we also dooked for apples, broke our teeth on toffee apples and had a treasure trail to find nuts and fruit as kids! if we dressed up it was for fun and we got sweets from the neighbours for singing songs or telling spooky stories - now times have changed with bloody trick or treat!!!
hi sarah - yeah you remember the wimpy too! our local lesuire park with its cinema and gym has every fast food joint going! that was a farmers field 5 years ago!! lol!! we still have some of the older tradional coffee houses - mainly italian run so you are guaranteed the best coffee ever!! i thought there would be plenty fleshy bits to scoop out of the pumpkin - there is hardly any - boo hoo - i was looking forward to making my soup!! had the oven on and the other veg ready!! was going to roast it first!
hi jan - can't remember happy eaters but i remember little chef, i remember them having cheeseburgers on the menu in the days before macdonalds, and thinking that's what all the americans eat and they look really fantastic!! ohhh these were the days!! lol at you with your milkshake and trying to suck out out of the straw! we used to get brain freeze from drinking them too quickly!!! lol !! my son thinks heston blumenthal is a fantastic chef, he liked one of his series as it was all science related! yeah i wonder how he will give them a revamp??
hi izzy - at least you will escape the door bell going non stop tonight - oh god that's our local primary school out now - the door will probably start going very soon!! had to laugh at sarah and jan hiding from the little darlings!
xxx heather xxxx
31/10/08 12:36
Glad I saved that ...
Sarah - We did what you did last year and put a sign up on the door - I'd only been back home 1 night so was totally cream crackered anyway. Didn't stop some of the little darlings knocking on the door though - grrrrrr
. Totally agree that it's become so Americanised - everything seems to have lately - what with secretaries day/grandparents day etc etc - what will they think of next?? Angela -hope your nan has a lovely birthday - what did you get her in the end - sounds difficult to buy for! Well done with the weight loss - you're getting there!! Nice that James has got your nephew to hang out with during school hols. Bet they have a wail of a time together. Have a nice day off today!
Paula - nice to hear from you - know what you mean about being busy - I remember Thomas at that age and I just seemed to be on the go all the time with no time for myself! I think I started to introduce fingers foods once Thomas was feeding well on his solids. I can't remember exactly (even though it's not that long ago!) when I did introduce them - I think he was about 7 months old - but if you feel like trying Alfie with something try rice cakes/bread and butter/toast(just lightly toasted so it's still fairly soft)/fingers of soft fruit/fingers of cooked veg. It will be messy but stick with it and Alfie will get the hang of it.
Heather - oh you are good doing a pumpkin! Lol at Lillie eating half your potato - sounds like she's got a good appetite. Well done managing to get her to drink so much - I offer Thomas water inbetween meals and he just turns his head away all the time or throws a fit about it!! Ooo you talking about snow reminds me when I was 12 - the winter of 1982 - we'd just moved to Shropshire and we had sooo much snow. My school was 7 miles away and I always travelled by school bus. I think we ended up having about 3 days off school because they couldn't get through to pick us up - I was so disappointed - not - lol!! I remember some of the snowdrifts were as high as a double decker bus!! - we just don't get snow like that anymore - thank goodness! Lol at you liking McDonalds banana milkshakes - I love their strawberry ones but almost burst a blood vessel trying to suck them through the straw! I remember Wimpey - do remember Happy Eater's as well - same sort of thing. I suppose Little Chef is the only one like that left now - very expensive for what you get though I think. Did hear Hester Blumenthal is supposed to be giving them a menu makeover sometime so will be interesting to see what he comes up with!
Linda - hello!! Oh I remember the first night Thomas went in his room - I had to keep getting up and down to check on him to make sure he was ok. Couldn't relax at all! Have a lovely night at the halloween party tonight - sounds like fun. Can't believe you saw someone feeding their lo's chips before they can even sit up! I remember once going for breakfast somewhere and there was a little girl in there having chips and cola for breakfast - omg it's no wonder there is an obesity problem these days. I'm going to try to bring Thomas up to eat healthily - not saying he can't have the occassional treat but there's no-way I'm taking him to McDonalds every week!! Oh how lucky having someone who works at Next who passes on the discounts! I could do with that - lol!
Right better get some lunch - my stomach has been rumbling for at least an hour!
Have a great weekend everyone and happy halloween

hi everyone
It's been so busy on here and I've only been away a day - time to catch up!
Jo - Florence Nightingale at the moment then? How is everyone - poor Matthew with his sore bottom/ears etc - so miserable - hope he's on the mend. How are Ian and your mom as well - loads of things going round at the moment - it's that time of year! Can't believe how many dismissals you've had a work lately - bet you get to the point where you wonder what's going to happen next. Lol at you demolishing 5 vchoccie biscuits! I try not to keep choccie biscuits in the house because I know I'd just eat the lot in one go otherwise - buy them for treats instead (which is most of the time - lol!). Still trying Thomas with yogurt at the moment - up to 4 teaspoons a day now - only thing is he's developed a really sore bum so I'm not sure whether it's teeth or the yogurt that's caused it. Taken him off yogurt for now until it clears up and then will try again to see what happens. We only discovered about his lactose intolerance when we took him to hospital when he was 2 wks old to get him checked over as he had prolonged jaundice. The doc who looked over Thomas noticed he looked a bit bloated and asked all sorts of questions and did some tests which came back as lactose intolerant. We were so lucky that he picked it up otherwise he could have been really poorly. I did notice when I'd just had him mind you that he was very very windy with diahorrea while I was feeding him but when I questioned it at the time I was just poo pooed! You've made me feel better about Thomas not drinking much anyway after you'd spoken to your hv - his nappies are always wet but he never drinks much at all so that's put my mind at rest anyway. Chester Zoo was brilliant - had a lovely sunny day to go round - Thomas loved the penguins, sealions and elephants - got quite excited when he saw them - lol. Granny and Grandad came with us as well so he ended up with a huge pengiun balloon that frightens me to death everytime I walk into the lounge because I forget it's there! Was quite expensive to get in - cost us almost £30 for the two of us. Lo's go in free until they're 3. If you ever go though I've since found out you can buy cheaper tickets on Lastminute.com - they're discounted by a few pounds which isn't much but it all helps!
Izzy - welcome back! Lol at your comment about dh being back at home so now there's more work. Found a great birthday card the other day for my female boss - says relax & put your feet up - it's just like being a man for the day - made me laugh anyway!! Sounds like you're working your socks off at the moment. Have you got any more travels in the pipeline or are you home for a while now?
Sarah - Good news about Jasper - I bet he's so relieved. Glad Nelson's getting better too - I bet you are though as well - hopefully better nights sleep now! Lol at the Wallace and Gromit clock - I bet you could have thrown the thing across the room - I've just given all the toys Thomas got from my colleague a clean - they live on a farm and I didn't like the look of some of the things on the toys
. The whole house smells of Dettol now - lol! Know what you mean about halloween - we get loads of trick and treaters round here - drives me mad - I've got to the point where I don't answer the door now either - grumpy old woman that I am - lol! What really gets me going is our neighbours on the one side who we don't particularly get on with always send their boys round knocking on the door - bloody cheek! I'm going to lie on the floor in the dark tonight so it looks like there's no-one in - lol! We did what you did last year and put a si31/10/08 11:41
I shouldn't be here! Just couldn't resist taking a peak, then had to tell you that you are all making me feel homesick talking about Halloween and pumpkins. How do you explain to someone from a totally different culture what Halloween is??? I'm right there with you Linda!
Anyway, hope you all have a fun "scary" Halloween and a great weekend.
that is the closest Bounty seems to get for a scary icon!Izzy xx

Part 2, Knew I'd waffled so saved it.
Jo - Think ''Bears' on in the morning too at about 7amish. That's the only thing I have in mind for Nelson's Xmas prezzie, some more 'Bear' DVD's I'm getting tired of the same old ones all the time.> >
