If you go to www.businesslink.gov.uk that gives you a lot of information about starting up a new business. Are you able to design your own website? If not then reg123 is a good site to start with as it has standard templates on it already, which makes the designing of your website very easy. With your website I would choose the website adress you want and then check that you can have both .co.uk and .com, and point one website to the other so that people doing an online search will definately get your website and not a competitiors with the same name. Also, once you have chosen the name of your company you will need to register it with companies house. The library offers a very good service these days where they will do the registration for you for about 90 pounds. The larger libraries usually have a business advice section. I would also recomemnd buying one of the starting up a business for dummies, or idiots guide type books, as they explain things in very basic language and can save you costly mistakes in the future. They will also show you the difference between companies and what the best type of company would be to register your company as. (ie ltd, or sole trader etc.) Its worth spending a bit of time researching this as they all have different implications and if it all went wrong you wouldn't want to be help personaly liable for any debts. (Is this the typ of information you are looking for?) Hope this is of help. x
