Hi there,
I found a lump when my DS was only one, I was doing a routine check as you do, felt something the size of a golf ball just as you did, got my husband to check it too. At the time one of my friends had just finished radiotherapy she had had a breast lumpectomy, so I was terrified. Went to the GP, who was a specialist in oncology also, so he took a needle biopsy as he too was concerned, I was then referred to the breast clinic at my local hospital, saw a consultant and then went for an ultrasound, it was confirmed that I had a fibroid that would swell up with my monthly cycle and that I may have to get used to lumpy boobs!!
I was 27 then, I am 41 now, and a 3 years ago I got worried again, this time I had a mammogram before the ultrasound, and yet again it was confirmed as just a fibroid. Just a mass of tissue.
Its a very scary process to go through by yourself bacause you are always thinking worst case senario, I burst into tears in front of the GP, consultant and the radiographer because I was terrified, take a friend with you when you go. Don't do this alone!!
Big Big hugs to you, let me know how you got on, if you want too,
Take care,
H xxx
Thanks hun - I'll just be glad when Monday is here.

Not had any experience of this but didn't not want to reply. Keep your chin up hun, sending you a (((hug))), It sounds like the doctor is doing the best he can for you so at least you'll know what it is very soon.
Hope things go okay for you. XX
Hi everyone. On Monday night in the shower I found a huge lump in my breast (size of a golf ball) and I'm obviously scared to death its something sinister. I had my baby 9 weeks ago and he is ff so its not a blocked milk duct and its also not sore, so its not inflammation but it does feel quite symetrical (can't spell). I went to the Dr's on Tuesday and have a got an apt for Monday with a breast surgeon as Dr agreed it was worrying and big.
I just wondered if anyone had a similar experience and it turned out to be something and nothing. Monday seems an age away and I'm a born pessimist, so keep getting tearful and thinking doom and gloom.
Any advise would be grateful received.
Thanks

Hi Happy Mum
Thanks for that, it reassures me. I'm absolutely terrified and getting more tearful by the day thinking morbid thoughts. I'll let you know how I get on. Thankfully hubbie is coming with me, cause I'm sure I'll be an emotional mess.
