Hello girls,
So so sorry not to post earlier.... Holly Ava Simpson arrived on Tuesday 28th October at 09.10am, weighing 6lbs - she is just adorable. All those injections were definately worth it....
Actual birth wasn't too bad, was induced late on Monday night, although was there from Sunday! Little Holly arrived after about 11 hours of labour, some gas and air and diamorphine on Tuesday am.
then it went a bit wrong... my placenta didn't deliver, I had the injection but nothing happened, so they had a bit of a tug and the cord came away, so the doctor came in and told me to start gas & air again, and she had a feel and tried to manually remove the placenta, i'm not joking it was AGONY worse than the birth. They couldn't get the placenta to separate and I was losing a lot of blood so was rushed into theatre, given an epidural and they basically got in and got the placenta out, all pretty scary, I lost 2 pints of blood and was touch and go for a blood transfusion but they decided against it what with all of my other complications.. but they kept us on the labour ward until 11pm that night (without any food just in case I did the transfusion)... was totally shattered as you can imagine, had IV drips for antibiotics and fluids etc, not fun. Was finally allowed upto the after ward at 11pm, DH got us settled and then left and my first night with Holly at the hospital was actually lovely I couldn't stop looking at her.
They kept me in till Friday am to check blood levels and was on the IV drip till Thursday but thankfully no lasting problems, i'm on Antibiotics till next week and on Iron tablets for two weeks but hopefully when I have blood test in two weeks it will all be ok!
Finally got home on Friday and it was amazing... we have had a lovely weekend with our darling daughter, a few family vistors but didn't want too many. DH has to go back to work tom... BOOO but my mum is over for the week so that will be nice.
Hope everyone is all ok

Happy Halloween!
Emma - he's gorgeous, all those injections were definately worth it. Cogratulations! I can't wait to be able to feel my little one moving, I'm 11 weeks so hopefully won't be long now. Thought today that I felt something but it seems a little early or is it just that I know what it feels like 3rd time round? Hope the arthritis settles down for you Faye. Hope everything is ok with you Melly, waiting to hear how you are.
I've got my scan in a week, excited to finally be able to see baby but a little apprehensive after the dvt, I know clots can form behind the placenta so rather anxious about that. Keep reminding myself that it was very early in the pregnancy and the chances are that I would have known something was wrong by now. Still worrying though!

Morning Ladies,
Emma - CONGRATULATIONS on the birth of Jenson James, I'll bet he's georgous, Stick some piccys on your profile so we can see him when you get the chance!
Melly - best of luck today with the induction hon, sorry the sweep didn't work, but your lo could be here today, how exciting. Let us know when you're well enough.
Sue - Haven't had the vein thing yet, but as Duke says it is a side effect. Hope its not bothering you too much.
Duke04 hope all is good with you and bump.
Well I'm 20+1 today, had scan last week and managed not to ask the sex. All is good with the baby though (thank you God). Arthritis is a little better today, and have the rest of this week off, but will see how it goes during the course of the week, and may take the GP up on her offer of another week off if it's worsening towards the end of this week. It really is up and down day by day

Speak to you all soon

sue just read your post and just wanted to say that inflamed viens can be a side effect of clexane i happened to read through the sheet a couple of weeks ago when i noticed large prominant viens on my legs and on my arms hth x
26/10/08 11:37
Good luck to you Melly!!!!
Just have a quick question that im hoping someone can help with... Im currently 26 weeks pregnant with my 4th baby, have taken clexane with the last 2 pregnancies ( suspected pe during last pregnancy), with this one I have been on 40 ofclexane a day since 8 weeks. The thing is over the last 2 days I have noticed very lumpy veins on my leg, I have never had varicose veins, and assumed that I wouldnt as thought blood would flow easily due to medication, but legs are very swollen and the lumps increase in the evening, although do not hurt and are only on one leg, on the same leg I have also developed spider type veins which now look like a huge purple bruise.
I just wanted to check that this is nothing to worry about, any advice would be greatly appreciated...Im sure its not connected but since my leg got back my bp is really low.
Thankyou girls
xxSuexx

Morning girlies,
Just a quickie i'm heading off to the hopsital this afternoon to be booked in for the induction... quite nervous and have been willing the baby's head to move down more so the inducing works but we shall see, I could end up with a c-section too!!
Emma - congratulations on the birth of your son, Jenson, so so so pleased for you and your family, I bet he is just adorable... will post next week when i'm back home to let you know what I have... excited!!!
Take care all

Hi girls,
Thanks for all the well wishes. Just a quick update while I have chance. Jensen James was born by c section at 10am 22nd October weighing 6.14lbs he screamed as soon as he was out. The birth was absolutely fantastic I did not have the drapes up and watched him being born it was one of the best experiences of my life. I have recovered really well to I was out of bed that evening and home yesterday (would of been sooner if it was up to me). Still having pain but feel like I could cope with anything at the moment. Melly good luck with your induction hope it works hun will be thinking of you on sunday. Faye hope your relaxing and making the most of your time off xxx
Speak soon Emma and Jensen James xxx

morning girlies,
hope your all ok...
***>back from hospital girlies.... all good with me, they did the sweep (most unpleasant but not as bad as i thought it was going to be) but consultant said that the head isn't fully down so its unlikely it will work, so i go in on sunday and they will do the inducing and fingers crossed that will work... although if it hasn't by monday, he is now thinking, he may take me of the injections and do a c-section but hopefully not... will keep you posted.

21/10/08 10:27
Morning All,
Emma, so glad to hear from you, I was getting a bit worried about you when we hadn't heard for so long, but totally understand that your daughter needs you, a time of great change for you all, but hard for her to work out whats going on. Glad your house is spotless, cos you're gonna need all your energy for Wednesday! OMG Wednesday thats tomorrow, how exciting. Let us know when you can how it all goes, but won't expect to hear from you very soon. You'll be well tied up with 2 plus hubby to contend with.
Best of luck anyway, I'm sure it'll all go smoothly, and you'll have the labour you wish for.
Sending 'easy labour' vibes from tomorrow onwards.
Lots of hugs Faye xx

Hello girls,
Glad everyone is well. Been meaning to update for a while, have but been seriously busy ,every time I sit down to do it dd wants something or other She has become really clingy lately she is only 20 month I think she knows there is about to be a big change but does not quiet understand what. I have been in nesting mode to house is sparkling apart from 1 room but I just cant find the energy to do it now lol.
Faye bet you cant wait for your bump to become more noticeable I could not wait to show but I am now ready to have my body back to myself me thinks lol. Melly not long now and your yellow bump will make his/her grand entrance to the world bet you cant wait! All the other girls hope everything keeps going well, I know some of u are finding you bruise quiet bad try not to rub after you jab it really does help. I still get the odd bruise though, in fact the other day the midwife was looking at my bump and asked where my bruises had come from? I could tell she was thinking maybe my df was responsible(poor chap he would never do anything like that) once I explained she could not apologise enough but I suppose she would not be doing her job if she did not question these things.
Well my section is this Wednesday wahoo! Kind of nervous and excited at the same time. I have to be in for 8.30 and if all goes to plan he should be here for 10ish. Omg really cant believe how quick its gone. Well will come on and update once my little man has arrived probably be on the weekend.
Take care ladies speak soon Emma +bumpy xxxx

also ment to say what a beautiful name you have picked for your little girl xxx
