    Morning girls,

Hope your all ok, 33+1 today.. amazing... can't believe i'm finally getting there, totally exhausted today though as really not sleeping well but guess i'm getting the practice in for when the little one arrives!

All good on the blood tests, consultant has decided to take me off of the asprin at 34 weeks and continue me on the 60mg of clexane throughout as he is concerned about me getting another blood clot. Legs are still qutie swollen so now having weekly bp checks and urine tests to check for pre-eclam also having headaches so they are keeping an eye on me. Next scan is at 36 weeks and docs will then decide if going to induce me or not but consultant is pretty keen to induce at 38 weeks so not long at all...  But most important thing, is the little one is all ok!!

Last two weeks at work now, seriously can't wait!

On the jabs, I wasn't shown when I found out I was pregnant but was shown when I was first on Clexane when I had my blood clot the year before so guess they knew I had done them before.

Hope everyone else is all ok.

    Big hugs

    Morning Girls,

Melly, hope your blood tests went OK ,and that you get the results back quickly.

Emma, No I wasn't shown how to do the jabs, but I'm a nurse, so they probably assumed that I would just know what to do and get on with it.

Hope all Mummys and babies are growing nicely.

Got my next scan on Wednesday at 15+3 and see the consultant obs as well. Taking mum and DP to it, so they can have a good look at bubba. Had another very small bleed last week, which resolved itself within half an hour. Could find heartbeat with doppler, so didn't bother anyone about it. Will just tell them at the scan on Wednesday.

    Take care everyone!

    Faye xx

    Hi everyone,

Well I have been up to hospital this morning for monitoring and luckily my bp has dropped a bit so they not overly concerned. I just have to go up weekly now rather than fortnightly so they can keep a closer eye on things. They have also told me what symptoms to watch for and if I feel ill or anything then I have to go up to get checked out.

Melly good luck with your blood test hun I hope everything comes back fine. I have been meaning to ask for a while now, when you girls were given your first jabs were you shown how to do them or just left to it like me? I keep wondering if I am doing them correctly lately, because when I am doing them I keep hitting veins I think, they bleed alot and don't half hurt for ages afterwards.

Anyway girls speak soon and take care xxxemma and bump 33wk

    Hi girls,

Well I went for my regular growth scan today and my little man is doing fantastic wahoo. I am so over the moon they have estimated his weight at 5.5lb which is brill at 33wk, my dd was 5.13lb when she was born so he is on the way to being a chubby baby. Only thing is now they are a bit concerned my blood pressure is high and I have swelling on my ankles and face.So they have taken bloods and I have to go in tomorrow for monitoring and blood results, I asked my cons what the worst case scenario is and she said if its PE they probably going to have to deliver early but she told me not to panic as its unlikely to be. So i should find out tomorrow. Will keep you updated girls.

    Take  care everyone Emma xxxx

I finished taking clexane last week, feels like I was taking it for ever - am sure you all have the same feeling. Quinn is doing well though, so it was worth the bruises and stress. I am thinking of you all, and sending positive vibes.

    Much love, Kelly & Quinn

    Hi Mel,

I decided to take it from the day after I ovulated, in the hope baby would implant easier, if I was to fall pregnant. Most people (I think) take it as soon as they get a positive pregnancy test. I was told by consultant to take it as soon as next positive preg test, but my choice was to start right after ovulation.

They say not to take before ovulation, as there is some evidence that it may delay/hinder the egg release. I just thought it can't hurt if its after ovulation, and would stop a couple of days before my period if I wasn't pregnant. Did this for 6 months before getting pregnant with this one, so not sure if it helped implantation or not!

    Hope this helps

    Faye

P.S. Sorry if it takes me a while to reply, only got internet at work

32 weeks Melly thats great! Congrats! Its such a relief to know there's others out there and especially that your pregnancies are going well! Im sorry to sound dumb Faye (i am blonde ) but when you say take the aspirin from ovulation do you mean that now im starting ttc i have to start taking it now, i will be ovulating end of this month? Or do you mean as soon as the pregnancy is confirmed? Sorry this is all new to me and i want to make sure im doing things right. Thanks, Mel xxx

    Morning Girls,

Hope everyone well. Midwife rang me yesterday to tell me combined results are back at 1: 10,000 so all looks good with that side of things.

I finally plucked up the courage to post in my due in forum today instead of just lurking.

Melly 32 weeks is so great, I bet you can't wait til Christmas this year, with a beautiful squidgy bubba in your arms - the best prezzie ever.

Mel, I took the 75mg aspirin from ovulation onwards, and they introduced the clexane 40mg daily straight after the 6 week scan. Hope this helps.

    Take care everyone

    Afternoon all,

thanks for your kind words can't believe i'm 32 weeks now.. .not long to go! Faye pleased everything is ok with your little one!

Mel saw your msg, sorry for your loss honey! I've been on Asprin and Clexane since 6 weeks and everything fingers crossed has been fine, they keep a close eye on me but all seems to be well and now 32 weeks. I would have a chat with your consultant and see what he recommends but the Asprin/Clexane combo seems to work for most of us, although of course there are no guarantees. The injections sting and are a bit of a pain but will be worth in the end. Fingers crossed for you and let us know how you get on.x.x

Thank you Faye and Hippo. Your words are very comforting. I was upset that they had found something wrong with my blood but at the same time i was glad they had found something and that there is something they can do, iykwim. But its better this way than not knowing anything at all. From what i gathered from my consultant he intended on just giving me aspirin, although he did mention clexane. What is it they normally do? When do you start the aspirin and clexane? Thank you again. Mel xxx

    Morning everyone,

Glad your scan went so well Melly, all looking good now, fingers crossed.

Mel, saw your post and had to reply. I used to lurk in TTCAL but almost never posted as found it too heartbreaking. Its good that you have now found the cause for your loss. I lost 2 babies at 9 weeks and 8 weeks within 8 months, and was found to have lupus anticoagulent, same as you. For this pregnancy I took low dose aspirin from ovulation onwards, and arranged an early 6 week scan ( arranged by my consultant at 6+1). At that scan we saw our bean with a heartbeat and measuring 2.6mm. I was started on a clexane jab 40mg daily from that day, and told to keep on with the aspirin as well. I have consultant care and was rescaned at 8 weeks 12 weeks, will be scanned at 15 weeks then 20 weeks, then probably every other or every third week to check growth.

Fingers crossed all is well, although had a scare a few days ago, with a small bleed, which of course looks a lot worse when you're taking blood thinners. I am 13+6 today, and baby fine.

Keep you chin up, it will almost definately be OK for you next time, now you know the problem. Also you can always come on this thread to ask questions, rant, tell people the good news etc

Take care, and best of luck

    Faye xx

Hello everyone, sorry to gate crash. Im from the Miscarriage forum and am hoping to TTC again very soon, i need some advice. I lost my baby boy at 19+4 on the 8th July. I have only just seen the consultant today and found out my blood results and my baby boy's post mortem results. He was perfect in everyway, nothing at all wrong. Even the consultant said he was a perfectly formed baby and was meant to live I have been told why i lost him though, i have as the title says lupus anticoagulant, my blood clots more than it should and it prevented the placenta from properly 'fusing' with my body. I have been told in my next pregnancy i will be given aspirin from early on. I have read about clexane injections also. I was hoping you ladies could give me some hope as im so worried that i'll loose another baby. Have you been given aspirin? Have you found that aspirin hasn't helped and you have ended up on clexane in your next pregnancy? And more importantly have you or are you having a successful pregnancy? I have read alot of women have had aspirin but its still not helped and have had to lose another baby before being put on clexane. If this is the case then i will be demanding clexane! Any advice you have would help. Thank you. Mel xxx

    hi girls,

    hope your all ok...

    ***>

just back from the hospital, had my 32 week scan and check up today, dad came with as my hubbie and mum had to work, he was in awe of the scan, he’d never seen one before, made it really emotional… ahhh….  the baby is so big now, its amazing...... thankfully all ok, the baby has turned so head down now which is a relief and all measurements are good for 32 weeks so baby is growing properly which is fab news. midwife is slightly concerned about my swollen legs, but just have to keep an eye on them and keep the stockings on (joy!) and feet up as much as possible!  blood pressure also still a bit high but nothing to worry about.   i’m seeing the consultant next friday so will find out more then about inducement etc.. but fingers crossed they will let me go natural, have another scan at 36 weeks so will know more then. all very exciting though!!

shanesmummy - saw your post... i would speak to your consultant to get more info honey, i was only diagnosed last year as having fvl after i had a blood clot in my calf, its actually a fairly common blood condition and some people go through life without knowing they have it at all, others like me have complications. it is basically that your blood clots more than normal people. i've been on clexane injections since 6 weeks and will keep on them until 6 weeks after the birth, also on low dose asprin. each person is treated differently depending on what complications etc they have had, but yes it can cause blood clots, miscarriage etc so best to take the precautions. i've had consultant led care throughout my pregnancy and have been very closely monitored. good luck with it honey, we are all in the same boat here and although the injections are horrid they are life savers!!

    take care all

    melly... 31+5....x.x

Hello everyone I'm new here, I have been diagnosed as FVL Heterozygote (got it from my mum) and I have had 1 baby son who is perfectly healthy etc. I was supposed to take Clexane for 6 weeks after the birth but only managed it for 2 weeks as I was breastfeeding and had absolutely no appetite, I thought this would affect the nutrition baby was getting so I stopped with the injections an my appetite came back almost immediately.

Now I am pregnant again and just read that this FVL can cause stillbirth. I'm really worried now as I didn't know this last time. I don't know much about FVL so anyone who can explain it to me would be much appreciated.

I went for a scan a few weeks ago and told my consultant that I stopped taking Clexane early last time, and was made to feel like a complete idiot for stopping taking it, she said these exact words: 'I'm glad you got away without a blood clot last time but you might not be so lucky this time so I strongly advise you finish the course of injections.'

I have never actually had any problems with clotting in my life, and I'm confused about what to do.

If anyone wants to chat through email with me my email is elvis_the_god@hotmail.com

Thanks for any advice in advance.

    Morning everyone,

Thanks for your kind words Emma and Melly.

Yeah I was so scared, but midwife fantastic, and it means I totally trust her now, as she's proved that she'll come through for me when needed.

No bleeding at all yesterday, so fingers crossed. Also it's been a week since nucal yesterday and no results, so hoping thats a good thing, and they're OK and will just get sent through as normal.

Melly I hope your resting up properly, don'y want you looking like mitchellin (wo)man lol.

Emma, God how did you cope having the bleeding for 8 weeks hon, I feel like I've lived a lifetime in one day, with just a day of it?

    Take care everyone.

    Faye xx
