Thanks Hattie, that puts my mind to ease, i've been on clexane since 6 weeks now 29 weeks and hve been taking pregnacare pretty much throughout.... did check the box when I got home friday though and it does say not to take on anti-coag's so will stop taking and get the santogen ones that kerrie said to get.
I'm sure its fine like you say but what with previous blood clots want to be careful... only 11 weeks to go and I can't wait!
Jabs are getting difficult in the thighs now they hurt more any suggestions where else to jab?

Thanks for the warning Kerrie, I've been taking pregnacare since ttc. It didn't even occur to me that there may be a problem with clexane. Will switch to sanatogen and pray I've not done any harm.
22/8/08 16:34
that should read protein s not proteins lol
22/8/08 16:34
just seen the consutant at the hospital and they believe i have psd or proteins defiecency any else? i dont really know much about this condition other than its probably hereditary
22/8/08 11:26
Sorry meant Pregnacare OR the boots one..
22/8/08 11:25
Thanks honey, i've been taking pregnacare of the boots one since I find out I was pregnant at 3 weeks (now 28+5) and i've been all ok. I was aware of the Vit K thing and checked the packaging (didn't see anything about not to take on anti-coag's must be small... i'll check when I get back...) anyway my doc said was ok as small amount.... but to be honest I never checked with MW or with my blood doctor... i've nearly finished this pack so I switch to santogen like you said... Just so you know though I've had no problems and everything is all ok!! So try not to worry honey. The hosp really shoudl give us girlies on clexane a do/don't list as there its obviously quite common and its so easy to make a mistake...
Thanks for the warning honey.
Hope other than that your all ok and everyone else is too... how's the jabs going? Mine are now in the tops of the thighs but going ok... back in my stockings too under the advice of my consultant... all fun!!

thanks for warning hope you are ok and that you suffer no side effects from taking the tablets they should make things clearer on packaging i know i was taking paracetamol and some brands say you shouldnt if on anti coagulants although gp did say it was ok to take last week i took kids swimming and the kids wanted me to take them in jacuzzi so i did whilst in there i read the notice that said do not use if pregnant it went on to say that if on anti coags you should not use either (havent a clue why) i felt so silly for not having checked first before getting in

WARNING ABOUT PREGNACARE !
do not take this if you are on clexane. I just found out today after taking it for the last 10 weeks that it contains a large amount of vitamin k which helps you clot !!!! now thats the last thing i need its been counteracting my clexane ! In tiny small writing on the side of box it says do not take if you are on any anti coagulants im scared now worrying if ive caused myself or the placenta any damage. The worst thing is my mw reccommended it. i contacted her today and she's memo ing all the docs at surgery to tell them to stop telling preg women that may have clotting dis orders that pregnacare was good for them. Ive now moved over to sanatogen pro natel. i just wanted to spread the word in case any of you ladies were taking it .
love kerrie x

aww how lovely a blue bump!
with my clexane i was on 100mg in morning and 100mg on a night and all the way i was told that as soon as i thought i was in labour to stop injecting? ended up being induced though so it never came to that!

Morning everyone,
Thanks for the info Melly, I'll ask the consultant nearer the time about staying on the clexane.
Congratulations Duke on your BLUE bump, I'll bet it was amazing to see him in there.
Sue, I'm a long way off too only 10+3 today, but I think its only natural that you worry about these things, especially as you've had quick deliverys in the past. I'm sure I'll be terrified when I've got past worrying about the 12 week scan lol ( I always need something to worry about).

for everyone

hi everyone had my scan today 20 (weeks) all is well with baby and i now know its a boy!!!
19/8/08 16:56
Hi Girls,
Hope your all well. I've been working at home today as saw the MW and my bld pressure was a bit high but all ok.
Faye that's great news you found the hb with your doppler... must be amazing.... your 12 weeks will soon be here honey and fingers crossed all ok...

On the clexane front they are keeping me on the clexane at 60mg till 38 weeks and then onto 40mg - which gives a 12 hour window for any drugs, but they may still induce me it depends on how the baby is growing. Each person is different and I guess they advised 36 wks as that's what they think will be best, but i'm sure they will closely monitor you and review nearer the time.
Sue - as above i'm being kept on the clexane... i'm guessing your consultant will discuss with you soon but they may induce you or as births have been quick just keep you on the clexane and assume this one will be quick too... best to check with your consultant... fingers crossed honey.

Hi Ladies.
I am starting to worry, which is no suprise due to my neurotic nature..lol! The thing bothering me now, is the birth, yes I know its a loNg way off, im only 16 weeks. I have had 3 previous children and have all been really quick births ( none over 3 hours ), so what will happen if the clexane isnt out of my system?, or will they induce me early so as to avoid this happening?
Thanks xxSuexx

Hi Girls,
Haven't been on for a while. Glad things are all going well for everyone - Melly, sounds good for you at the hospital.
Well I'm 10+1 today, and found the babys heartbeat at home with my doppler yesterday for the first time( had been trying since 9 weeks
)I was sooo happy, and DP couldn't stop grinning. It makes it easier to get through the next couple of weeks til the 12 week scan with that as back up.
Just on another note, my consultant wants to keep me on clexane til 34 weeks then stop. Does this sound right to you?? Could be another 6-8 weeks after that before delivery!
Stay well

Hello all,
Amy thanks for the good luck msg..
Everything was good at the hospital, baby is growing fine, getting so big now... they have called me back for a further scan at 32 weeks just to monitor but so far so good and on the road for a natural rather than induced birth.
My blood etc is all ok too but because of the pains in my legs and two small superficial blood clots i'm now back in stockings for the remainder of the pregnancy, not fun but at least it isn't too hot!
Still doing the jabs in the top of the thighs, stings but its getting better.
Duke - we're not finding out the sex but good luck... keep us posted... very exctied for you.
