I would like to jump in here.

I bled from 8 weeks to 12 weeks with my pregnancy and of course I was scared stiff.

I am now at 36 weeks and booked in for an elective on the 8th September 2008. So fingers crossed for all who are going through this.

Hi I bled at around 4 weeks and then at around 8 weeks. I say bled but it was more a very light brown discharge for 2-3 days each time. Both times coincided with when my period was due. Doc gave me anti-biotics in case of infection and sent me for a scan at 6 wks. They found a heartbeat during the scan which greatly reassured me but I am still worried as I really want this baby and have taken 3 yrs to conceive. I do half-expect to bleed again at 12 weeks though. The books say that this is when the hormone levels aren't high enough to convince the body that it is pregnant and it tries to have its period - so it's essentilly a threatened miscarriage. But anyway so far so good and my hormones can't be that low because I have been as sick as a dog but then they aren't sure that sickness is an indication of high hormone levels. I just hope all will be ok. There are 101 things to worry about and we can't worry about all of them the whole time so I guess we must do our best to keep healthy and strong and hope for the best.

Hi, after reading all your posts I thought I would like to share my experiences with you.  It may offer a little reassurance.  I am 18 wks into my 7th pregnancy and this little one is so so different from the others.  The first 6 were text book pregnancies, everything at the right time etc.  This one however is a law unto itself,  I've been spotting and bleeding throughtout, sometimes red blood, sometimes dark brown.. im still light bleeding now.  Ive had umpteen scans, blood tests, even a cvs test done, everything has come out ok.  Ive invested in a doppler, and what a god send it is, to the point of addiction  lol  but it is so reassuring to know baby is ok in there!!  Im still being scanned regularly and doctors etc are all saying that its not uncommon to bleed throughout.

    Hi chick,

I had a bleed at about 8-9 weeks....not super heavy but due to a previous miscarriage I assumed the worst!

Went for an early scan and all was well...apparently it was like a 'bruise' at the edge of my womb

I am 32 weeks now....hope you are okay xx

Hi, this is my first post - normally check out DID. I have read this thread from start to finish, i am 9+2 and have been bleeding quite heavily today, started spotting at the weekend mostly brown, but today is like a full blown period, dark to medium red. having to wear sanitary towels. had an internal check in A&E and doc said that neck of womb was closed and that he could see blood and clots possibly old blood, but since then there has been a change in colour and flow, I have a scan at 11am tomorrow......has anyone else suffered heavy blood flow and come through it ok, please help or advise x

Hi i had bleeding at 9 weeks went into hospital as i was worried it was quite a lot, they said it was a haemorrage near my cervix caused by taking the pill and i had abnormal cells, i didn't fully understand but it was obviously not half as bad as it sounds cos the bleeding stopped after a week and baby was fine,

I've haven't had any bleeds during this pregnancy but I have with all of my others. The 3 that resulted in a miscarriage the blood was brown and the midwife told me that it is quite common for women to bleed but it is more concerning when it is brown, as it is old blood. I also had a small bleed about 16wks with my ds which the docs put down to being 'one of those things'. Hope everyhting's going well for you xx

I bled at 6 weeks, went for a scan and the embryo was "inconclusive" ie they couldnt detect a heartbeat. They said that sometimes its too early to detect one. I was told to go home and come back in 2 weeks time. I was having period pains but they stopped after 2 days. It was the longest 2 weeks of my pregnancy frought with worry. However, 2 weeks later I went back for my scan and everything was fine. No-one ever gave me an explanation except my sister who said it can be implantation bleeding. I'm now 32 weeks pregnant and everything is well. Hope all turns out well with you too

    Hi

I bled from 6 weeks to 14 weeks on and off, it wasnt bright red but sometimes i had pains with it, I went to the hospitl a couple of tmes as I was high risk anyway.

After 14 weeks though it stopped and the rest of the pregnancy went pretty much smoothly.
