Hi Sali,

Congratulations on baby Jacob, nice size too, my first was 9lbs 4oz.

Sorry about the c section. You may have been better of going for a natural delivery of breech baby cos the mw are trained to do it they just never get the chance cos everyone says c section. They even say section forwomen who are failing to progress as they call it. I'm very fed up with so many women having bad experiences in childbirth it doesnt have to be that way. Lucky for me mine was intervention free cos i stayed at home. I have posted my story on due in July and on the homebirth forum, also dp has put his on the hb site titled hb a dads experience.

At least you are home and doing ok now. This is when the hard work starts. Tiana is 3wks and 5 days now and its only just starting to calm down. After hassles with the hospital about blood sugar and then infected cord. Then at home the mw making a fuss out of her weight gain or lack of it. Now they have all disappeared its a lot easier and breastfeeding is finally working better.

If you like just pm when you want me to get your message quicker cos i dont look on here very often.

Take lots of rest when you can, is this your first or do you have others?

hi ellen,

well i had my baby by c section on 29th july 11.22am. needless to say he hadn't turned.

he was 9lb 2oz and we called him jacob rhys.

the section itself was the worst experience of my entire life.

firstly the spinal block didn't work, so had to have epidural to top it up.

then i could feel pain as they were trying to stitch me up.

i bled and lost 2.3 litres of blood and they thought that that didnt warrant a transfusion until i collapsed a had a seizure.

i will say that the nurses that took care of us in the high depedancy unit were fabulous but if the drs did their job i may not have been there in the first place.

anyway we are home now and recovering and he is absolutely gorgeous a bit jaundice but lovely.

hope you are well and that baby is settling in ok

oh yes my blood sugars seem fine too so fingers crossed

no not long now he hasn't turned yet so not holding out much hope now. i love cutchy babies but you dont get much of anything else done do you, will keep you informed hoping to be back home thursday or friday all going well.

I'm knackered cos all i do is feed and Tiana won't let me put her down. She goes straight to sleep if she is held.

Well i just fell asleep while typing this so i needto sleep before i click on something i don't need to,

hi, congratulations and what a beautiful name you chose for your little one.

i'm glad that things have settled down for you now and hope you are enjoying your baby.

i am due 5th aug but booked for 29th july he is still breech and at last mondays estimation is 8lb already and growing at 1lb a week over the last few weeks.

still hoping he may turn although most people i speak to say that i should not worry about a c section as they have had positive experiences themselves. can't help it though.

Hi Sali,

Sorry for the long delay. I had baby Tiana Ella May on July 9th. My waters broke on the 9th and i had two days of labour and waiting. She was born on the Wednesday morning 09.55. My partner delivered her on the bathroom floor. The mw took a wrong turning and arrived 5 minutes too late. On the 2nd day after her birth we had to take her to hospital for sugar level monitoring cos it dropped to 2.1 which is too low. Then her umbilical cord got infected and we had to stay in for another few days so it was from the Thursday to the following Monday before i got home. Now i am just getting settled.

So thats what i've been up to.

It sounds positive for you though, like you say at least there is a chance that the baby will be ready in the right position. When are you due?

i'll try to post on here a little more now things have calmed down.

not long now, hope it all goes well for you, i got given a date for c section/induction today it will be 29th july they will scan me just before the section and if he has turned they will induce instead so they are at least giving him the chance.

keep your fingers crossed for me

sounds like you know all the tricks.

I'm okay today i think, not so many pains as last week and don't feel too emotional like i have been lately. I am due on Thursday but the scan dates, next Friday by mine. We will see. I feel very heavy now and my bachacke is atrocious.

It will be done soon and just a distant memory hey

Hi, keep going though, try the pelvic tilt, i think that means laying with your pelvis high. i can find out from the book i read it in if you want more info.xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

well today i decided to clean all my floors in the hope that might turn the stubborn little bugger. so hands and knees it was and i'm absolutley knackered now. don't think he turned though but at least everythings had a good clean. lol.

Still a few more weeks yet. Just have a natural breech birth then.

are you swimming and doing handstands?

baby is a good weight but not to big by their estimations, mine was 7lbs 7oz at 37 wks.

Still it could get tricky for me cos my date is 18th but hospital dates are 10th, thats difficult about induction. I know the consultant will want to do that. thats why i changed my appointment from 11th to 18th so i won't have to deal with it until my own due date.

hi ellen, i see my consultant every monday so i get to see baby alot. good luck with your home birth hope it is what you expect with no troubles. you must be getting excited now, i am and ive got 5 weeks yet.
