Hi Lucalily - I too had high results and after a horrendous wait had the Amnio, had been in hospital with bleeding and wasnt sure if my Consultant would go ahead with the procedure but I HAD to know, weird as I really do not know how I would have felt if my results had come back positive, my DP has a first cousin with Down Syndrome and he had his mind set on what we should do, Consultant was brilliant as I was crying and shaking all the way through the procedure, but not knowin would have been worse for me, so I went ahead.  The procedure itself was ok, did not feel the needle go in but felt some pressue in my uterus the whole thing was very very quick and they then showed me my baby moving around afterwards none the wiser.  Good luck to you, Flossie xxx

    Hi Bexar,

I was so happy for you when I read about your results! I can understand exactly what you were going through, I am 28 and have been given a risk of 1:64 for downs syndrome. Am going for detailed scan and possible amnio tomorrow.

Hope you dont mind me asking but what eventually persuaded you to go ahead with the amnio and how have you been feeling since having it?

Good luck with rest of your pregnancy and congratulations once again!!

    xx
