My cervix is weak as I has the lining removed cos of pre cancerous cells. Only had this done a month before falling pg. I've seen the consultant and there not even going to check it to see if it's ok until my 20 wk scan in 2 & half wks time. Then I get the results bk 2 wks after when I'm 22 wks. I feel this is really late possibly too late if anything bad should happen. I've heard so many stories like the one's bellow losing them at this time and really don't want that to happen to me! I feel it's only being looked into at this time as I'm having the scan done then anyway so will save them time and money by not doing it earlier. Bloody NHS!!!
they should scan weekly from 14/15 till 22ish
the danger period is around 18-20 weeks
Can you go private? the scans are usually only 50ish each
HI! I don't really know what to say. First of all, sorry for your loss - it happened to me twice - once at 23 weeks and then at 21 weeks - so I do really understand how anxious you are feeling. Why are consultants so against these stitches? I felt as though I had to convince my consultant too- I had one put in t 14 weeks, and am now nearly 20 weeks, although my cervix has opened down to the stitvh and I am just hoping that the sitch will do its job! If you really want one, I would just keep asking. At least your cervix will be checked at 20 weeks, so if there is something happening, they can still put in a stitch - a few of the girls have had this. Not a very good answer I'm sorry! But feel free to ask any questions, and 'll try to answer them for you as best as I can!!
hi just after some advice.
In my previos pregnancy i went into labour at 22 weeks and gave birth at 24 weeks. I am currently 13 weeks pregnant and am under a consultant. However they have not offered me the stitch, they have said that I had a prem before as my cervix is soft and there is more chance of me going into labour earlier if they put in the stitch. They have said they will scan me at 20 and 22 weeks and scan to measure my cervix.
im just worried, they dont seem to be doing anything to help me not have a prem labour

Why have you got to wait 2 weeks for the result of the scan? They can normally see whether the cervix is opening or shotening from the 20 scan, so you should be able to see straight a way. Well, that's what I thought, I could be wrong, but the sonogropher showed me mine there and then on the screen.
