This may be daft question but do they need to wear anything under a little wet suit thing? Want to take dd swimming but not sure what to do about the nappy thing? Help
Well I've done it, I took him swimming for the 1st time today and he loved it. Going to try and take him once a week.
Hi, My baby is 9 week and we are taking him to the swimming baths this week for the first time. He is also a big baby so we have bought him a wetsuit from Next and the Little Swiimer nappies in size small. We will see how warm or cold it is this time so we know what to put him in next time as we also bought him some little swim shorts with an in built nappy. They were on offer from Toys R Us for £2.99. They are size 6-12 month but look extremely small. Let you know how we go on.
Hi! I'm new to all this forum stuff but have found some of your comments really useful. I have an 8 week old little boy who loves his baths and the power shower(!!) so we want to take him swimming but I am a bit unsure what I need in the way of "kit"?? We will be taking him to our local private leisure club so the pool is about 30 degrees. Will I need a wetsuit and a swim nappy? If so any ideas where I can buy them to fit my boy, he weighs nearly 15lb so he's not a small baby.
I took my LO swimming when we went to mablethorpe in may. That is the only time i have been with her
The simple reason is the pools and changing rooms are freezing and she has had a cold for months...i have looked for 'warmer' pools near us but seen as tho im not from this area i dunno where to start...could any1 help?? were in the alfreton area
my dd has been goin swimmign since she was 8 weeks old, how old was ur lo's wen u took them? x my dd loves water
xx
I find the float seats are Ok for the very tiny LOs bit it is rather passive position for the older ones. Try just armbands as then it is much easier to lift LO up and down and splash in and out of the water, lie on their back/front etc.
hi am gonna start taking my little one swimming again only went a few times when he was smaller so was wondering do i get him afloaty seat or armbands hes 14 months old thanks
Hi, I go to baby swimming classes call Water Babies- they are really fab and very professional! They teach you how to do lots of activities and we really love practising them on our own when we go swimming as well. My lo can hold onto the side on his own and float on his back and he loves humptey dumpteying off the side. All the babies learn to swim under the water as well and they absolutley love it- most of them in our class have started kicking their legs now as they go around the pool as well which is really great to see as they are all about 3 or 4 months old. Also the pool is really warm which is gorgeous.
i go to a l parent and baby swimming time
they have music, and toys in the pool and floats and DS loves going! but if he doesnt feel like playing with the toys, i like bounce around with him, or sing to him
when i take dd we do ring a roses and on all fall down we put her under the water, when she first started going i would blow in her face but as she recognises the song now she automatically hold her breath, we also do the wheels on the bus just to get them moving inthe water and having fun. dd's fav is hokey cokey at the toddler swim were all the lo's face each aother doing the actions.
