Doctor said they only prescribe as a last resort.

Asked if I would like to join a weight loss clinic at the surgery.
Gutted.
One good thing is that I have lost 5lb this week, through using the Paul McKenna CD and book. Easy!

Thanks for the reply. I'm really worried they will say no. I'm kind of banking on it as my last resort! I'm a serial dieter and a serial 'put it all back on and more'!!!!
Fingers crossed! Appt is Fri morning

you could just say you've looked into it and you think its right for you. They might want to try you on xenical first though if you haven't been on it before.

Hiya,
I have booked an appointment to ask for reductil. I am 4 stone over weight and desperate to lose, but keep losing 2 stone, feeling great, then putting it back on. Feeling really fat and fed up.
What should I say? What sort of things should I expect to be asked? Should I just be outspoken and say 'I want reductil'?
I'm so nervous! Help! LoL!

Our doctors will not prescribe Reductil as they say there are way too many side effects for them to be happy prescribing them, obviously I'm sure there are exceptions but as a rule they won't let you have them. They aren't good if you have had any history of depression for any reason, eating disorders or problems with food in the past and some people have even committed suicide whilst taking them. I had zenical which made me very ill and I ended up being taken to hospital because they upset the balance of the acids in my stomach and also made my gallstones flare up - the pain was not nice and neither is the gastroscopy I've got to have next week now! Do what I've done and get a few friends and go to SLimming World!! You can eat loads, nothing is banned and we're all helping each other along. Good luck xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
