Try not to worry hon. I had an attack of gallstones last night and the pain is worse than labour you would know if you had them! I was sodden with sweat and exhausted when the pain went away. You can't sit or stand or get comfy and the pain is just unbearable. This goes on for some time before subsiding. I tend to kneel on the floor over the sofa and make loud screaming noises!!! It really is far worse than labour. I am on lansoprazole 30mg a day on a long term basis and my consultant appointment is November. I also always have a bottle of gaviscon to hand as this helps wth heartburn and works quite quickly. Let us know how you go at the docs. xxxxxxxxxx

Hi all, i have had my test results back and they are negative! I wanted them to be positive so i could have the antibiotics and be ok, now im worried!

Im on Omprazole for heartburn and indegestion. I still get a bit of the indegestion discomfort, but the heartburn has gone. I still get the odd pain in my chest, its mainly on the left hand side (which is worrying but the docter wasnt too worried as its not when i am doing strenuos things). Im hoping its not gallstones.

I also get a discomfort in the stomach (upper) at times, its hard to explain it - just uncomfortable. I have another docters appionment on monday - but as im me i will worry like hell until then!

    i will keep you updated

Hi i had h pylori a few years ago and was treated. I was given omeprazole, clarithromycin and metronidazole and had to take one of each tablet 3 times a day for a week. It was horrendous. I felt more poorly on the tablets than i did before i was diagnosed but then after that i felt fine. The only problem i have now is that i get gastritis (inflammation of the stomach) every so often which is treated with omeprazole for 28 days. Never been sent for a gastroscopy though.

Sorry i went off a bit then, the treatment is bad while you are on it, there are many different drug combinations you can have depending on severity of symptoms, drug allergies etc. Once you have finished though, you should feel much better.

    Hope this helps,

    Monica x

I have gallstones that has been confirmed but the doc thinks I also have GORD. PPI's are Proton Pump Inhibitors and stop the acid being produced in your stomach or cut it right down or something!! I cancelled my gastroscopy because I was really scared (wuss!!!) and now I'm waiting to see the consultant. xxx

Can i ask where the pain was, and what are ppis?

My friend had all the symtons last year but it was gallstones, dr is sure i havent got them. Hopefully my tests results come through soon and it is h. pylori - then its just a case of anti bs!
