hi, i feel really strongly about this subject so will definately be signing the petition.

I had a smear test at 18/19 before they changed it and it came back as abnormal. because of this i had tests every 3 months then 6 months and now im back to 3 years because luckily after 2 abnormal tests, nothing came of it. my mum and my aunty (her sister) have both had surgery on cancerous cells so it does worry me. non of my friends of the same age group have had one and they are all sexually active it really annoys me (for them) because they could have something and they dont know about it. im 24 btw.

also I have one friend who has the hpv virus and they wont do a smear test because she isnt 25 and she isnt 25 for another 3 years! she is worried sick and im not suprised.

please sign the petition and get it changed!

Think things have changed in the last 5 years, i had a letter through when i turned 20 saying i was due a smear test and when i ran up for an appointment they said that the age had just changed to 25.  Had a letter through on my 25th birthday this year saying i was due a test.

they only rountinely do them from 25 but u can request one from doc if u worried bout anything

No, its not just Wales, but across the UK smear tests are performed on a 'postcode lottery'. Basically, it depends on where you live as to wether your doctor will do one or refuse

thats strange i had my first when i was 19 i'm 25 now i'm from derby so its not just wales?

Ladies, please sign this very important petition! The UK is the only part of Great Britain that is refusing smear tests to women under 25. It needs to change!! Its all done on a postcode lottery as to wether your doctors are allowed to give you a smear test.

Personal experiance...I am 24 years old, been sexually active since 16, and I have 3 children, and I have never had a smear test, and I wont be allowed one until April next year.

Hi, im a little confused by this. Is this a new thing? I was invited to attend a smear test when I was under 20yrs old, had my first when I was about 19 I think. I live in Wales so dont know if that makes a difference.
