If it's bothering you mentally and physically you should get the doctor to check it out. You've had it for a long time and you're obviously fine, but for peace of mind get it checked. Is it always the same size?

thanks for that.
I suffer with allergies so im kinda hoping its all linked to that.
I have look on the internet and a lot of the reasons glands/lymph nodes are swolloen is due to infection or allergies. its just that ive had it for quite a while that concerns me. I would prob say about 10 years ago when i first noticed it come up and went to the docs about it then but she said it was nothing to worry about and would go away by its self

My mum noticed that my neck looked swollen and I went to the docs with it, don't know how long it had been there. It turned out to be a growth on my left thyroid gland, and i went fo surgery to have it removed. It was benign and I've had no side effects, my thyroid function hasn't been affected. It could have been left but I would have worried forever about it. Since it was discovered, I'v heard loads of people having the same problem. Get it checked for peace of mind. HTH x

I have had a swollen gland ( or at least i think it is ) in my neck for quite a few years now. when i went to see the doctor about it a few years ago she said that it would go away but never has.
does anyone think that i should be mega concerned about it. i have made an appointment with the doc for the end of the week.
Has anyone else ever suffered from anything like this
x
