cow and gate does have lactose in but it is a reduced amount so you could maybe try your baby with that formula 1st.  xxx

If you have a family history with parents, grandparents and siblings it is advised to avoid the allergen(in your case lactose) untill LO is over 12 months.

So I would go straight onto LF milk and you have a good chance at 12 months of him being ok. The later you leave it try some thing the better.

    Hi there,

With my DS 3 years ago we realised he was lactose intolerence and used colief which is  put into the milk, I was using cow and gate at the time and bought some tommee tippee anti colic bottles.

Im sure i have read recently that cow and gate comfort is for babies who are lactose intolerant.

Im due our 2nd baby in August and am going to try normal milk, but the first sign of the same thing happening again, I will try the cow and gate comfort first before the coleif.

I would say to try normal formula but you know the signs so if your baby is really unhappy go straight onto LF!

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and the birth!!! xxx

Hi my son has a lactose intolerance, and was diagnosed at 6 months after being very poorly.  lactose intolerances run in my family - my dad and myself when i was younger

I am due with second baby in 9days and although i intend to bf, it didnt last long with ds.

should i try the new baby with normal formula or should i go straight onto a lactose free formula???  Im so confused at what to do - i dont want to go through with what happened with ds but i dont want to harm baby either.
