definately take your lo to the doctor. my lo was very constipated from a year old. at first they gave her lactulose which was useless and after 6months of her screaming in pain when she pooped we finally demanded to see a paediatrician. he diagnosed that she had a slow bowel and had further problems caused by her having severe gastroenteritis at 11months. she has now been on movicol for a year and a half and will probably need it for atleast another year.constipation can be an indication of bowel problems so its worth getting checked just incase

Prunes either juice, dried or tinned. Otherwise ask at the chemist. My ds was the same and the chemist gave me a bottle that he said the doctors percribe but cant remember what it was called.....sorry.

Hi, my lo is 2 and is suffering with constipation she seems to go from one extreme to the next for a long time she had very runny poo now shes constipated. What is the best thing to give toddlers for constipation. I have tried orange juice but that only worked when she was younger I have also tried rubbing her tummy clock wise.

my ds has fybergel (SP?) and it is a very gentle natural fruit husk laxitive - i also used it when i had constipation and piles during pregnancy and it was very effective without being too harsh and making things go the other way
