They don't  tend to suggest you use soya milk as it can trigger a soya allergy if given when very young. There are a few formulas which are hypoallergenic such as nutramigen or neocate which are supposed to be safer and are nutritionally complete. Good luck with the GP - do you or anyone in the family have food allergies or eczema/asthma/hayfever? If any of these run in your family then lo is more likely to have a food/dairy allergy. Just useful to have some ammunition!!

Also if they are reluctant to give you anything point out that it can't do any harm to give it a try for a week or so. If it doesn't work at least you have eliminated one problem!

Sounds like your little one could have an intolerance to cows milk or a lactose intolerance - especially if very windy and sick having tried all of those different formulas. I would go back to your GP and ask to try a lactose/dairy free formula (which you get on prescription) to see whether things improve. The vomiting tends to settle quite fast  (a few days). The wind and bowel symptoms (yucky nappies??) can take a couple of weeks to improve.

If this doesn't help or your baby isn't putting on weight as they should then ask to go back to a paediatrician (perhaps a different one).

    Good luck,

    Fin x

hi can anyone help? my daughter is 9 weeks old. Has been a bit sicky from the start. Were on Aptamil after 5 days bf, but sick 3 times a day. not distressed with it but would bring up whole bottle.
Changed to C+G at 3 weeks, bit better, sick maybe twice a day. Also had lots of wind and cried passing poos and farts. In the end changed to C+G Comfort at 4 weeks. things gots better, not so sick.
she went 4 days without throwing up last week and thought we had cracked it. but she has started being sick every day again now. sometimes in middle of feed, or at end or after 1-2 hours.
Dont know what to do! Doc gave us gaviscon at 6 weeks but not used it yet as thought it was better. Saw a paedatrician and he wasnt any use, just said babies sometime throw up!

    Any advice please?
