Thanks so much for your reply which has indeed made me feel more positive about it. Must admit that i feel a bit cheeky doing it this way when i know that so many other children are much worse than my little boy. I just figured i'd use it and abuse it given that we don't seem to be able to control the symptons.... It's a constant battle to try and get any cream on him as it hurts so much and as he's getting older it's spreading to other areas of his body.... I've identified that synthetic fabrics definitely make him worse but other than that i'm at a loss. I would rather get a good idea before i start messing around with his diet too.....

my sister suffered for years with terrible excema and flaking scalp. it was bad on her face and it was affecting her self esteem. she went through skin patch testing which can in itself be an ordeal but it was well well worth it. she now know that she is allergic to parabens and formahyldahide (sp?) which is in so many creams, cosmetics and even baby wipes. it has turned her life around as she knows which products to avoid. she has gorgeous skin now! my daughter has multiple allergies and an anaphylactic reaction to horses and had skin p*** tests, we now know the specific things that she reacts to even down to which trees set her off. if you know what your son is allergic to you can take steps to avoid it and the results could be remarkable. go for it. good luck.

    I have a questionLisaT1975

My little boy is due to go privately for a patch and blood test to see whether there are any products he should be avoiding to help alleviate his eczema and i was just wondering whether anyone else has gone down this route and to what success? As it is covered through our insurance i figured what the heck but i'm wondering whether i should be getting my hopes up!!!!
