Just wanted to pass on what I found out at the hospital.
My daughter has had eczema since around 3 months and the gp prescribed moisturiser and hydrocortisone and told me to use them both - it never cleared, it was sometimes a little better but always there.
We have tried so many moisturisers bought & prescribed and cut so many things from her diet but nothing worked.
I spent £200 to see a private dermatologist who was as much use as my GP and we then got to see him 3 months later on the NHS. I was concerned about using hydrocortisone and requested they show me how much to put on so he asked a nurse to come see me.
The nurse was very helpful and told me to moisturise her with whatever suits her skin best (currently dream cream form lush) and to lather it on and let it seep into her skin itself , then around 20mins later apply the hydrocortisone otherwise it will just slide over the moisturiser. My daughter's skin has completely cleared and although she has few patches now and again it's fantastic to see her with babysoft skin no scratching since. I don't knoww if it's just a fluke but I think if I had been told to treat her this way to start with we wouldn't have had 7 months of mitts, long sleeves and a continous moisturing regime.

yeah, fingers crossed
