my dd had it when she was 18 months wasnt given anything just told calpol if needed. She wasnt ill with it really but mouth looked sore poor thing. Just one them things have to sit it out. Hope they feel better soon.

My little 1 is 25 months old- I took her to the doctor today and he said she has Hand foot and mouth virus.  He did not give me anything for her as he said it's a virus.  I asked in the pharmacy and they said it can sometimes be bacterial too.

I wondered if anyone's child has had this, how long it lasted and if the doctor prescribed anything for it.  My daughter has been unwell for 2 days now- barley slept last night and has been crying on and off all day!  She doesn't have it on her hands or feet- just loads of ulcer type things inside her mouth, on her tongue and in her throat.
