I was told that Nutramigen was high in calories???

Anyways none of my children have slept til they were on three meals a day, as well as 20oz of milk which is what they should be getting! If they are eating really well during the day, then they are probably waking up through habit, than actually being hungry.

Good luck with weaning back on to normal milk. Nutramigen has been a lifesaver for us. He's never slept through, but at least he doesnt scream in pain any longer

My son has Nutramigen and has always been fine at night. I wouldn't say it's the milk hun, more likely to be your lo. If you want to stop the milk at night then I wouldn't go cold Turkey, just move the times slowly. eg. if your lo usually has a bottle at 3am give it at 3.15 for 2 days then 3.30 for 2 days and slowly get later and later until your lo is sleeping through. Hope that helps x

I have been to see the doctor today and have to try introducing normal baby milk in with the Nutramigen. I hope works as I feel sorry for her if she is hungry during the night. Midwifes say I have to stop giving her milk only water at night and to do controlled crying. I am so glad to hear from someone having the same problem as me as I am going mad thinking its my fault cause I keep letting her have milk at night. They keep telling me that she is old enough to sleep twelve hours and it habit that she wakes. I have been left loads of leaflets on how to make her sleep through but it's easy for them when she is screaming and won't settle till she has milk

Hi my ds2 has been on nutramigen 1 since about 5 weeks old, he's now 8 and a half months, and I've never had a full nights sleep. He gets up at least once a night. He has 3 meals a day and little snacks in between with three 5oz bottles through the day. HV says I'm giving him too much milk??? But doc says she's talking rubbish. LOL. HV also said to me to stop giving him milk during the night, but it's like he is starving. I've tried giving him a wee supper before bed but he's not really interested in food at that time of evening.

The broken sleep is making me and ds2 so tired. Especially since ds1 slept all night from 8 weeks and dd slept through from 5 weeks.

I'm just grinning and bearing it I'm afraid. If I dont give him the milk, he breaks his heart and screams for hours.

Hi yeah weaned her and at four and a half months. She eats really well all day and does'nt really want milk. Health visitor came today and has told me to try and stop giving bottles at night. It's so hard as she breaks her heart and the milk settles her. I think I am going to just grin and bear no sleep.

hiya. my 8 month old is on nutramigen 2 after switching at 6 months from no 1. we never had any problems with it hun, actually because he was lactose and milk intolerant and had a sore tummy all the time when we switched over he was like a new baby and started sleeping through a few days after starting it. how much is she taking milk wise and is she weaning?

Hi my lo is 7 months and is Lactose Intolerant. She goes to bed at 7 after a 8oz bottle then wakes at eleven then four. Been to see the doc and he said it's because she is hungry as the Nutramigen does'nt fill them up. Is anyone else having probs as it's starting to get me down as i have never had a full nights sleep and am back to work soon. She eats really well during the day.
