hi
my daughter is being refered to a consultant for tests after being hospitalised x3 for working to hard to breath and a fast heart beat, sometimes her heart would beat at 200 bpm and she would be breathing at over 60 breaths a min.
She was in hosp from birth as her x-ray showed a shadow on her lungs. She was on anti-biotics before being dis-charged.
She has been at drs loads of times for her chest and ruckily breathing and shes been prescribed anti-biotics and calpol. She was then hospitilised a month ago because she was turning blue, she needed oxygen and was put in an oxygen box. They said bronculitis and once her oxygen levels where ok she was sent home.
She then got admitted on thursday again for going blue, she needed oxygen again, they said bronculitis again and have just let her out with a follow up appointment, which will come through the post in about 6 weeks.
Both times she was in hosp x-rays where done and shadows on her lungs where found, they said this was because she has been coughing so much food has passed into the wind pipe rather than the food pipe.
Just wanting to know what type of tests will be done when she goes to the consultant and if there is anything i should push for....
Caitlin is 5 months by the way
thanks

hi hun i think I have spoke to you in other threads before.
my ds1 was refered for persistant abnormal chest x-rays after his lung collapsed last year.
we have just gone through a range of tests, he had a ct scan, a broncoscopy, a ph study a sweat test (for cf)blood tests and we have just got home today from a sleep study (this is to see if his adanoids are causing his persistant wheezing).
I dont know if that helps at all. sorry if thats rambled but I'm tired from staying in hospital again lol.
hope you get some answers soon.
