My lo had it at 6 WEEKS!!!

Only advice is dont use anything unless she needs it. My lo didnt get the tempreature, just the spots. I didnt need calomine on any of them, none of them scratched!!

I just found out they are going round my DD's pre-school at the moment.  I'm just waiting for her to get them.  She is 3 in October and I have a DS who is 8 months.  My SIL said to get Lacto Calamine as it is thicker and more soothing and also piriton syrup.  HTH someone.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that if they do get them then it won't be too bad. Hope your los are better soon.

Hi my ds has them at the moment he is 3 years. I think if they are under 1 contact the doctors. My friend's baby had them at 6 weeks old and was in hospital with them. My ds isn't to bad with it but he is still coming out with new spots 5 days after the 1st one came out does anybody know when they should stop getting new ones? He has them bad round his bits he also has one very close to his eye which is giving him problems. He has got loads on his head but does anybody know what I can do with his head? I have never has chickenpox so hope I don't get them.

Hope you lo is better soon.

Hi, I would ring and ask to speak to your GP. It can be serious for a LO under 12 months with chicken pox. My DS got them at 12months and he was bad but the screaming the house down stopped after day 3. He also got infected chicken pox in his nappy area and had to have antiboitics.

If you are worried about your LO contact your GP.

Hi, just wondering if anyone else had experience of chicken pox at such a young age, my daughter started getting a few spots on sat but really broke out on sun, she is covered in them now and is really not well with them at all, she is normally a very happy baby but she is just screaming all the time and she has always been a good feeder but she is completely off her food, I am struggling to get her to have much, she wont go in her cot n is screaming all night, me and my OH are taking it in turns to be up with her during the night, please can u tell me if it is usual for them to be this bad and how long does it last, she is usually in a really good routine and I am also worried that this has now gone out the window.

    Any advice appreciated

    Thank you
