I am now officially a Grandma WAHOO!!!

My beautiful GrandDaughter was born 19th November 2008 at 5.21am weighing 7lb 13oz

I was DD1 birth partner (her boyfriend was also there and was fantastic!)  She had a very tough time, but did brilliantly and I am very proud of her

I have to admit it was one of the worst (seeing her in SO much pain) and the best experiences I have ever had.

DD1 had to go back into hospital over the weekend due to an infection in her womb due to retained membranes, but she is home now and I am SO happy

    I’m 45 (as of yesterday) .

I became a Grandma at 39, but my situation is slightly different in that I have full residence (custody) of my Grandson. He’s been with us since he was 5 months old and will be 6 in December (so, perhaps I’m more of an older mum than a young Grandma (not sure on that one). He calls us ’Mum and Dad’ even thought he is fully aware that weare Grandma and Grandad. I love being a Grandma and do get quite peeved when people utomatically assume that I am his mum.

I’ve recently started Home Educating him as he wasn’t happy in school unless he was causing a riot (which is not good at any age let alone at 5 years old).

I am 42 and a step nanna, my step daughter had her son 2 weeks after I had my 2nd son, so they will grow up together, they are both 14 months now.

We are all going on holiday together, now that should be fun and confusing for everyone lol.

I'm a step grandma and my step DD had her first 7 years ago. My youngest is only 4 lol. It is very strange as we go out and they can't tell who's kids are who's! She's just had her third.

In a way it's nice as all your pregnacy info is still pretty up to date. You also haven't forgotten how bad sleepless nights are.

I had my first grandchild at 38 and my next is due in January (I am now 40).  My youngest DD is only 3 so it is strange having child and grandchild year apart but I love it.

Hiya I was 40 in January, have 5 children ranging from 20 years to 8 months.

I'm also going to be a Grandma in November!!  Was a HUGE shock to the system when DD1 first found out she was pregnant.  But we are all really excited about the new baby now.  Will also be playmate for DD2!!

Good Luck with becoming a Grandparent
