she is your child and you are entitled to do as you please.if you dont want to fall out then you need to tell her firmly, but not unkindly that you dont want your dd out of the house overnight at ANYONES house. at 21/2 she needs to be at home because you just dont think she is old enough to be away from mum yet.ignore her protests. just keep saying no.my dd was 4 before i let her stay out.let it wash over you hon. easier said than done i know but if you dont she'll drive you mental.lol. xxx

My partner's Mother is starting to really get to me.  She has my partner's Nephew a lot, whilst their parents work and also at weekends and over night.  My mother has my daughter whilst I go to work and normally when we go out which isn't a lot!!!  She comes up once in the week and we see them once at the weekend.  I have never felt comfortable with leaving my dd with her.  She never seemed to watch her properly when she was toddling and I found myself doing the running around all the time whilst she sat and just shouted at her not to do things (when at 1 they don't understand) and would wind her up and say things I didn't like to her.  She also does this with my Nephew which I have never liked which is why I've never let her really have her unless Grandad is there too.  She used to say things about his parents in other words to me it was like she wanted him to want her more than his own parents. Lately as my dd is now 2 and 1/2 she has started to keep asking her if she is going to sleep at her house.  I normally just ignore her as it is never going to happen not until she is way older.  I don't have my dd sleep out any way even at my mum's house.  She goes on and on about it to her and I just keep saying "she doesn't sleep out".  My partner just ignores her and tells me to ignore her but I'm now getting dd saying Yes to her when she's asking even though I know dd doesn't really know what she is agreeing to.  I just need a bit of advice on how to handle the situation as it is stressing me out and I'm dreading the next time she comes around to our house.  I will just be on edge all the time.
