Thank you, I've got a 'bump' still, its 12 weeks since my c section. I've been doing the exercises but it seems to be staying put for the moment. I didn't want to see the doctor as I feel a bit silly about it. So glad others have it too and that it does eventually get better,
hiya ladies - i dare to bare lol!! have upladed a few pics of my post section belly from a few weeks to one year post section!!!!
My belly is not anywhere near normal yet and DD is 5 months old now! I have a lovely little pouch above my scar which was never there before, i was always proud of how flat my tummy was even when 2st overweight. Not to mention how streched it all is, it looks kindof ok (in clothes) when I stand up but when I sit down it all bulges out! But DD seems to like to snuggle it and I was never one for bikinis anyway so I try not to be too bothered about it. Now my boobs are a different matter, I used to be a very pert 34C, now I am a very floppy 36E! not pretty, need lots of scaffolding to keep them looking anywhere decent!
I still have an overhanf where my scar is but although I'm 1 stone lighter than when I got pregnant, I'm still 3 stone heavier than I should be for my height so I thik it's more to do with being overweight. I've got terrible stretchmarks (which don't bother me or my dh) and the area was numb for quite a long time & tingly.
SpiritsWorld - you sound like me! I ended up having an emergency c section with my son (now 2 1/2 yrs). 5 hours later I was trying to get out of bed & getting told off cos I still couldn't feel my legs properly! They ended up having to let me not long after before I drove them mad!
Next morning I was up at 7 & went to the bathroom got myself sorted out & dressed and when the nurse came in to take my blood pressure she was shocked cos she thought I'd still be in bed. Hadn't had any painkillers at all (she made my have paracetamol). As we were both fine I asked if I could go home. She just smiled & went "I don't see why not, you seem to be doing fine" and grinned. I was in hospital just 30 hours after having him! I'm a terrible patient, lol.
for becbrown... you really dont want it to be a hernia hun. i had a hernia and they had to cut me open again to remove it. my stomach now looks like a patchwork quilt ha. got a lovely scar above the original one. all the best love nat xx
oh im gonna buy that book i will do anything if it makes my belly look so kind of normal again!
Ah yes doctors are crap like that. They figure if its not a medical thing, then it doesnt matter. Bolllix!!!
hi every1 i had a emergency c section 4months ago, its healed reely well, but the problem is my belly button still hasnt went bak in! has any1 heard of this b4, becoz i hate it!!! i get so down about it. the doctor said its nt a hernia, as if im ment 2 b pleasd. i wish it was a hernia so they cud get rid! xx
I had breakthrough pain too - they had to give me a GA.
There's a good book called Lose Your Mummy Tummy which can show you exercises to help close your diastasis (where your muscles separate). Doing bog standard situps can make it worse.
A good physio should be able to help too - they specialise in this kind of thing.
PS: My tummy is now flat but does look a bit wrong...tummy tuck for me after the family is completed me thinks!
Hi there...
To all ladies who have planned a C-Section...
I am a 28 year old full time mummy, to three lovely children, i would like to tell you abit about myself:
My first little girl was born normally, my second child was a little boy who was a planned C-Section, though my own choice as I had a nasty car crash at 30-weeks carrying our son.
My C-Section went well, she weighted a 8lbs and 12ozs at 39-weeks...LOL I was in for a bit of a shock after the C-Section, I just didn't have a clue that they get you up and out of bed the next day walking to the shower rooms..pmsl! Never the less I did it, i thought my gut's where about to fall out mind you, I took painkillers like smarties lol!
Then I had another little girl, which was suppose to be a E.C.Section as her heart rate dropped, but I never got that far, as she popped into the world herself, sadly she passed away from many problems at the age of 9-mths old, she had a condition called Cantu Syndrome.
Never the less I tried for another baby, and this time I was carrying another little girl, who was a planned C-Section at 38-weeks, I had her on "Monday 10th March 2008" she weighted 7lbs and 9ozs, all fit and well...xXx
My second C-section, i was worried about alot, as I knew that I would be in alot of pain afterwards. I went down with my mum, they gave me my spinal block, but i wasn't numb from the boobs dwn I was only numb from the belly-button down.
I found this starnge as I know my first C-Section I remember feeling very differently to this time around, I kept telling them I can feel things, and I felt pain BUT they keeped saying NO NO your fine..
As they pulled my little girl out, I started to feel EVERYTHING! panic stations were on then...Another doctor came in and had to stich me up quick...By this point I was crapping it! excuses my french...
BUT the most starngest thing was, the time I came out of recovery and back on to the ward, I could fell everything, and I didn't need any pain killers either, all night passed and the next day still didn't need any drugs etc etc...
I remember a nurse seeing me the next day saying "oh dear, you haven't had any pain killers today Lisa" I laughed and said I was just fine thank you, I got myself out of the bed and walked to the shower with out telling a nurse...
So by the time Wednesday came I was up and dressed ready to leave for home...lol
ever since then I am doing ok, my tummy was sore in some places but not like my first time, i found it was a little stingy in some places...
Not sure if any of you ladies had a stingy feeling...i would be very grateful if any one has done to please let me know thank you.
I hope, my story hasn't scared or put any of you ladies off, but if i am any help to anyone please, please message me...
Take care all xXx
I Had a section 4 years ago and I still have no feeling in the part around the scar and on the fullest part of my belly! I am now 13 weeks pregnant and when I went for my scan I could not even feel the gel going on my tummy, thats how numb it is!
no way would i put mine up
i would if others do lol
has anyone uplaoded photos of their post section tummies????
I had my section 5 weeks and 5 days ago, i have a little bit of fat like a lip above my scar too and my belly looks like a tiny baby bulge but im hoping it wil go as its early days still. Its the stretchmarks on it i hate the most
i had an emergency c section 6 months ago and im very hung up about my body now as most ppl get when they have an unplanned operation which can disfigure you. i have quite a chunky overhang and i hate it with a passion my scar has healed quite nicely altho is an ugly purpley line not that you can see it under the huge flab of excess skin iv been really good eatin healthy and getting more excercise since having my daughter but its not shifted even slightly its quite upsetting as before i got pg i was planning on trying to get in to modelling and now i will never have a cat in hells chance but i have my beautiful daughter and anythin is worth it for her
Hi, that sounds like my tummy.
The midwife said it's because the muscles have seperated (as normally happens during pregnancy) but they have not knitted back together properly. If you do a sit up does your belly stick out even more? If so, the bump could be your muscles.
I was told to do sit ups to help it, I haven't bothered yet and I had my section 8 months ago now!
mines still there 25 months on..... and I am below my pre-pg weight!!! It doesnt bother me but I guess if it did then a tummy tuck would be the only option!! Lol. Luckily it doesnt bother dh either as he ses it as 'a badge of honor for our ds'
yer i also have a little overhang just above my scar but that doesnt bother me tbh x

hi, so glad its not just me then! my daughters are now 2 and 5 yrs and somedays i still look 6mths preg if i dont hold it in
.!!!!!! im a size 10 on bottom and a size 36DD on top! going on hols in 2 wks and at moment bikini shopping , nightmare to say least. scaffolding for top and normal size 10 for end. its ridiculous as most bikinis are sold together!
me thinking im going to be doing a lot of lying down sunbathing this year to hold belly in, cause although im a size 10 i certainly dont have flat stomach, quite the opposite..stretchmarks and flabby bits!! haha oh well the joys of sections/pregnancy!!!!!!!!!!!!
