I had an emergency c section with my first ,got to 9 cm then was rushed down for emergency section because she got in to distress and her heartrate dropped to almost non existant . was lucky enough to experience a vbac with second baby . im also facing the possilility of another c section due to a low placenta and was terrified . I also had a rough recovery from the first c section ( but yours sounds a  lot worse) . having since spoke to  poeple who have had an emergency and then a planned c section they have all said the planned one was much easier recovery wise as its not rushed the surgeon can take their time because the baby is not distressed so therefore they are much more gentle with you in the operation . hope this puts your mind at rest it made me feel better xx

Firstly, as other mums who've had 'normal' cs after emergency ones will tell you- you don't normally have all those things go wrong afterwards!! You went through labour and a cs- double pain whammy- and your body was completely traumatised! This time, you know what to expect (without the panic of the last time) and you'll be monitered closely after your complications the last time. Please talk to your consultant about your fears- if they're aware of any concerns they'll try & put you at ease- before, during and after the cs.

Hi there all. I'm 30 weeks preganant with my second child. I have been booked in for an elective section on the 10th sept. I had an emergency one with my first, after going thru technically a full labour my baby got stuck while crowning and the forceps and ventouse didn't help i was taken for a c-section. When I woke up my first concern was my baby who was suffering with quite bad head trauma and looked like he'd done ten rounds with tyson. I was taken away to recover and it wasn't till the next day when i was having huge difficulty lifting myself into sitting position that I realised that thing weren't right with me. I told the midwife I felt really bloated but she wasn't concerned. It took my sister telling them that I wasn't usually so big. Eventulally a consultant came and from then I was nill by mouth for 4 days, had 2 blood transfusion, a cathater bag and a tube down my nose into my stomach trying to drain excess fluid. When that was taken out I was given an enema to try clear the blockage. ( not a nice experience at all ) I went in to hospital 9 months pregnant and a maternity size 10 ( normal clothes 14 ) and I came out a size 18 a week later. Because of all the pipes and things coming out of me I couldn't do anything for my baby and I'm petrified the same thing will happen this time. Has anything simiular happened to anyone else or has anyone got any advice on calming my self down? Please and thankyou. Hayley Jane X
