My cs was planned for Friday 13th April last year (of all the dates to book me in!). I started having pains on Monday 9th April and went into hospital where they monitored me. They told me it was a water infection and sent me home with some anti biotics. By the evening of Tuesday 10th April, the 'water infection'  pains were 5 mins apart and lasting for 1.5 minutes. I rang them, told them i was booked in for a section and they told me to come in straight away. I had Charlie by cs at 3.37am on Wednesday 11th April. So it was kind of a planned emergency (if you see what i mean). The whole process was brilliantly done and I had a really positive experience. Although trying to keep still for the spinal, whilst having contractions was a nightmare!

This happened to me I was due to go in for a planned section on the monday n went into labour on the fri nite. I started having pains about 10 at night & went hospital about 3 in morn because I didnt think i was in labour. I finally had ds at 4:43pm that afternoon so they left me in labour for quite a while. Wernt that bad tho. Was o monitors until they decided they wer defo sectioning me then & had to stay on bed because of it

hi i had this with my last birth but i can't go through full labour as my cervix won't dialate so just get labour pains. and i stupidly waited until labour pains were 10 mins apart.. went into hospital and they had to confirm that nothing was happening with me spoke to a consultant who agreed cs was the way to go and although they kept me waiting until pains were coming every 3mins (they were busy that night) cs went really well almost as if it was an elective.. very relaxed and we were laughing and joking the whole time in surgery.. good luck honey.

Hiya, my first post so hope it’s ok. I had a traumatic first delivery (well 3rd stage) and had to wait for an extended period of time to go to theatre in immense pain. As I got closer to my due date with 2nd baby I began to panic and was an emotional wreck so requested a section as I was told it was more likely to happen again and I was guaranteed nothing (after suggesting early epidural). Anyway consultant agreed quite readily (i was prepared to beg) and said if i went into labour before hand to come in and tell them i was booked for a section and i would be done as an emergency. As it happened I went in for my scheduled section, no labour and stone cold sober into theatre. I was shaking (literally) with fear and nearly pulled out but i went ahead and despite a heavy blood loss on the table i have to say it was the preferable of my two births and a really positive experience for me

Hi pinky, i had a planned elective section, but bubs came 9 days early (11 wks old now). I had slow labour for approx 6 hours, (they wanted to make sure bubs was ready for coming, and he was!) The section went fine and it was a lovely experience. The recovery is obviously slower, but the quicker you get up and about really does make a difference. I want more children eventually and would not hesitate requesting a section again. Good luck and remember you only ever hear the horror stories. xx

Yeah I don't have to have a section either. I had a traumatic birth the first time and shoulder dystocia. So I have also been worried I'll go into labour and be made to trial labour and see how it goes.

Very scary! Good luck with yours.

i haven't experienced it but going into labour earlier than my section is a fear of mine too.  I have just spoke to a mum who had an emergency section in 2004 and had a planned section this time cos of breech baby.  Her waters went and she started labouring at 36 weeks, she was section within 2 hours of arriving at hospital and looked great the day after. She really reccomends a planned section.  My fear is that because i dont 'have' to have a section apart from being previous section, is that i will have to make a decision whether to have a trial labour!

Hope it all goes to plan!

    Hi,

I have a planned section is 3 weeks time and I am scared I am going to go into labour before then.

I have had it explained to me that if I do go into labour to call them and say i have a section booked in and they will do an emergency section.

Just wondering if this has happened to anyone. I would like to hear your story.

    Thanks.
