hi becky. im in the same position as you. my 1st dd was born emCS as i did not dilate - after 3 days in labour! my consultant is advising the same. im 30 weeks today. its pretty scary but i want to do whats best for baby.
ive spoken to a lot of people and they all say that thew experience is much less traumatic - for you and baby if you have a planned CS. i guess you know whats coming really. my midwife also said most women tend to heal quicker with planned CS as everything is much calmer and prepared for.
when are you due? have you booked your CS? hope this helps a bit - im still pretty nervous, its going to be weird to know when babys birthday will be!
anyway if you want to chat pm me
Good luck
Danielle

I had an emergency c-section 3 years ago with dd due to a very traumatic birth, dd was in distress and wasn't dilating etc.
I have now seen a consultant who has advised me to have a planned c-section this time around and thinks that would be best for both the baby and me. I am fine with this decision as if its best then thats all that matters.
I just wanted to know whether or not a planned c-section has turned out more positive than an emergency for those who have experienced this. Everything happened so fast last time and am feeling a bit worried.
Would appreciate any advice or comments x

my first was an emcs due to pretty similar cercumstances i can't dilate even when in full labour, and my pelvis they have now found is the wrong shape to get a pea out of let alone a baby lol
my 2nd cs was planed but i went into labour and had to have another emcs. but it was great more relaxed as i knew what to expect.. the recovery time was alot shorter.. i was out of the hospital within 3 days. and was able to pick bub's up from the moment i was on the ward...
even in theatre it was more of a laugh than surgery as we were chatting to the theatre team all the way through and having a laugh at the team and my dp. even though it was more complicated this time as dd1 was tiny (4lb 15 and over due) this one was 6lb 4 and got stuck as my womb is tiny lol. even through the scary part of them turning her inside me i knew i was in safe hands and they talked to me the whole time..
don't worry as you've been through the worst the first time and things can only get better and i bet your birth will be great this time round...
