    Smiling at youteeheehee

With my first emergency section I had the same removable stitch as cazz. With my next (planned) section I had dissolvables. I then made sure a request for dissolvables was included in my birthplan for section 3 and 4. It's usually whatever the consultant prefers but they happily accomadated me. With my 4th the consultant said I may need staples if the scar edges were not so strong or tatty but thankfully they were ok and I got my dissolvables...x

i had the prolene bead stitchs the same as cazz and you can hardly see my scar , and its been only 9 days! my mum though had staples and had alot of trouble with them , my mw said that they should be banned as she thinks they cause problems for some people! i would try and ask for prolene bead or desolvable stitchs if you can!xx

Hi, i had an emergency c section and was given stitches but it was done from the inside. It was like one big stitch with a small bead at either end (thin blue plastic thread) and 5 days later to take it out the nurse just cut one bead off one end and then pulled it out and it came ut all in one and was tootally painless, altho u could feel it being pulled it was just tickly rather than painful. Nothing to worry about.

Hi - I had a c-section last week and wasn't asked about stitches/staples.  I had stitches with my dd back in 2005 and was left with quite an unsightly scar - this time the surgeon looked at my old scar and said he could do better so removed it and did a brilliant job with his needle & thread and I've got a really thin scar which I'm sure will be unnoticeable in the future.

Hiya, Ive had 3 c-sections and always been given staples.

I never had a say, they just did it ! lol It was never bad tho, after the first day when the scar starts to heal they sumtimes pull a bit but it isnt so painful, more uncomfortable. You do feel the relief and realise the pressure of them pulling the skin together when they r taken out too. Im having my 4th section with this baby and will probably have staples...... im not sure tho suppose it depends on the surgeon.

hope this helps hun x x

    I have a questionnetty287

Hello with my first c-section i was automatically stiched up using disolvable stitches. I was just wondering if this is always the case? Do you get to choose what your stitched up with, with a planned c-section? or dont you get much of a say? I really dont fancy staples or anything...
