Hey there. crashing from DIS
Not sure about c-sections but regarding Whittington in general, they are defo one of the better North London hossies and the midwifes have a good reputation.
Your other options, Royal Free and Chase Farm in particular have not got good reps at all!
I will be having my bubs at Whittington and and quite pleased about that!
All the best. Hope you get your c-sec.

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to find out if anyone had a c section at Whittington (Archway in London)? I'm having my first baby in December and want to have an elective cs (I suffer from syncopy which means I faint a lot and don't wanna hurt myself or baby during labour), the docs don't really take me seriously (even that I've been treated for this for years at neurological hosp) and I still don't know if I'm gonna have cs or not? I'm petrified that something's gonna happen to my baby and am furious that nobody want to listen to me! Otherwise midwives and other staff are really nice and helpful but am wondering shall I change the hospital (I'm 21wks now) to go through the birth how I want it? Surely it's my right to choose what I think it's the best for me and the baby?
So if anyone could tell me what expieriences they had with north london hospitals I'd appreciate it. Shall I push them to agree with me or just resign myself to whatever they think it's best. I'm so unexpierienced!
Many thanks

i had an emergancy section at uch. i was very impressed with the staff there during my labour etc. the actual building was a dive and i saw c***roaches - nice. but they are moving into the new buiding in sept, so will be much better. i would go back there again.
a couple of my friends also were there and all had positve experiences. i think that the whittington is particularly good if you want a nutuaral or home birth.
the after care was pretty crap, but i think that is pretty par for the course where ever you are.
