hey - i had a discharge from one end of my wound too. it was the end that they seemed to have stitched a little tighter than the rest of it. i was put on 2 lots of anti biotics to try and clear it up but it never even shifted it. Shall i tell you what i used and it cleared up in 3 days.....................Manuka honey!!!!
you can buy it in some super markets but definately in health food shops, its quite expensive but well worth, about £5 a jar. I also had an over hang. My hubby used to spread it on with a knife on a night time over my wound after a shower, i then used to put a bit of gauze over it and try and wear a tight fitting pair of nickers or you could even stickr a sanitary towel to the inside of you nickers to stop the honey transferring onto them. It sounds funny - but all really worked for me and my midwife and doctor coudnt believe it - apparently Manuka honey is used sometimes in hospitals for bed sores etc as it has natural healing properties!!!!

The mw did a swob of mine on thursday and sent it off will get results on monday.. ive noticed its smelly but my mum who baiths it for me says its ok.
I have a big tummy so a large over hang and thats not helping it as no fresh air is getting 2 it. mw recomends holding my tummy up and lieing on my bed letting sum air get 2 it.. but tbh with an 11 day old baby i havent got a chance 2 sit down let alone lie down lol.
does the teatree oil really work?? and how much do u need 2 put in the bath?

I had a C-Section on the 10th July, thought that it had healed well but doctor checked me over after a routine appointment and my scar was leaking

I didn't feel anything but the Nurse said that it's better that your body is leaking it out than keeping it all in! However, I've now got some antibiotic cream after having a swab and the infection found to be bacteria! Rank! Hoping it clears up soon!
I agree that C-Sections are not the easier option and I would NEVER actually opt for one lol! Give me a natural anyday!

Had my first visit from nurse today and she repacked the wound (3cm deep). When she took the packing out I nearly vomited it was so gross.
Whoever who thinks having a section is the 'easy' option is so wrong!

Go to the doctors and get it checked hun to be on the safe side. I had an infection which wasn't picked up by mw's and ended up back in hospital on a drip. Mine started off as a slight infection and got a lot worse! Your probably fine but just check to be on the safe side.xxxxxxxxx

Yes id get it checked hun - might just be slight infection. Best to get sumthing for it now than wait until it gets worse.
I found salt in the bath helped or even just cotton wool in boiled (cooled) salt water and bathe the wound 3 times a day just to be on the safe side.

I had 2 lots of antibiotics after my 2nd section - so it's always best to check with a doctor or midwife incase it is an infection. I was in a lot of pain with the infection though, but it's always best to ask a professional.

I'm putting tea tree oil and lavender oil in the bath and it smells lovely.

Id definatly ask to be on the safe side just to rule out any infection.

Had section 15 days ago and am feeling well on the whole with a bit of tenderness but have been walking out and about since the day after I came home (day 4). I am still getting a discharge from my wound (more from one side) which is not partically smelly and is light yellow in colour and very occasinally soaks through light bottoms and knicks.
Was discharged from mw last Thursday but she did not check wound since the Monday when she said it was healing well.
Is this normal? should I ask hv when she comes on Wednesday?

Well still having daily visits from district nurse to get wound cleaned, packed and dressed but she said it is looking a slight bit better today. They did a swab on Thursday after finishing meds so will see if infection is still there.
ps I just put about 2 - 3 drop s of tea tree oil in bath and it was woking until I opened!
