Its good to know that it must be "normal" to have such bad pains every month. I suppose at least I wont get caught out and will know when I am going to come on

Linz - that sounds awful about ur period pains, u must have suffered lots, very handy tip about the painkillers n coffee - didn;t know that.
Hope everything goes ok at your scan, let us know how it goes

All I can say is that you lot are just lucky that the pain has only begun now! I have had the most horrific period pains since I was 13/14 years old. I used to writhe around in agony cos I never knew how to control the pain as a teenager. When I was older I had to take a day off work on the first day of my period! Then I went on the pill to control it and that did help in reducing the days of pain from 4 to 1 and then I dealt with the rest of the pain with 400mg of ibuprofen with a cup of coffee (caffeine boosts painkillers effects) and a hot water bottle to my back (even though the pain is at the front, the heat works better that way). My mum bought me an electric version of the water bottle cos I needed the heat for ages!
Now I have the opposite problem, my periods have not returned after 16 months and I am having to have an internal scan. I can't believe I find myself longing for the pain that means a period is on its way and so I can be normal again!

I didn't see this post and have just posted something similar. I get an awful pain in my scar before and during my periods now. I never ever got pains before so I can only guess it's to do with the csection. I hate it as it just reminds me of the pain I went through!

I had c -section 10 months ago too. I have not had the pain that you say, but I do get a sort of dull ache - maybe to do with being a bit bloated?

Hi All,
This is my first time on a chat forum -thank goodness I have found this one :-)
I had my son by c-section 10 months ago, I have a question if anyone can help.
Is it normal for my scar to be really painful the couple of days before I get my period & during? It hurts loads more than my old "period pain", painkillers don't even touch it. Does anyone else get this?
Thanks
p.s sorry if this is too graphic for the forum

Unfortunately I have to wait till mid-Oct for my appt though (NHS for you) so meanwhile I keep waiting for that elusive period. I was thrilled at the lack of periods and hence period pain during pregnancy and breastfeeding but now the novelty has worn off and I'm starting to really worry. Maybe it's nothing, I'll have to see...
