21 months after my 2nd section and I still get pains and twinges. I went to the GP who explained that the pain I get mid-cycle is ovulation pains, where everything is moving and pulling on the scar tissue. -

Hi Honey
I had an elective section on the 19th September 07 and still have a tender side. The left side has totally healed and you can't even see the scar but the right side is quite raised and lumpy (looks almost like a worm).
The lumpy side is still tender to touch and can get quite sore. Also if my daughter jumps on me and puts her foot on that area, the whole area feels quite sore. It's an odd sort of pain really, feels more like an inner pain than surface pain.
I do think it's because it does appear to be sewn up tighter on one side, I have heard this is quite usual as the surgeons stand on one side to sew you up, but also there will be internal scar tissue that is probably causing pain too.
I don't think it's anything to worry about unless you are in real agony, then they would probably have to investigate further. HTHs x

I had an emergency C-section a year ago and although my scar has healed nicely I still have tenderness in my left side. If my son climbs of me my scar feels weak and it hurts. Also when I get my period I get awful pains now something I never ever got before the section. Does anyone else have any of these symptoms? When I spoke to my GP about it a few months back she said the left side might have been sewn up more tightly than the other side? I don't know I just feel a bit worried about it and wanted to know if this pain was normal?

I'm 7 months on (emergency section) and still in pain.. seeing physio (different types of pelvic floor exercises) have had an ultrasound scan and have an appointment with gynaechologist.. if the pain is still bad keep pestering your gp till u get a referral.. I've had more presciptions for pain killers than i know what to do wit h-none work! pain is worse during period but get pain most of the time regardless.. a pharmacist said it might be nerve damage and nerve pain is difficult to treat - great!
