Hello, i had a section 6 weeks ago and suffered awful headaches a few days later. Turned out to be a spinal headache where fluid i leaking from the hole they made in spine.
If its ok when lying down but comes on when sitting/standing up it may be that??
If so, they offered me a blood patch, where they take blood from your arm etc and inject it into the hole they made, this is suppost t help. However as it meant staying in hospital and being seperated from bubs i chose not to and decided to try and get over it naturally. Still have a sore head now but it is dying down.

Hi Hun
Your midwifes wasn't very helpful was she!! I never had a headache after my section or epidural with my 1st. you can take paracetamol if you are BFing or maybe give your gp a call for something stronger.
If it persists call your gp or give NHS direct a ring. Sorry I can't be of more help, I know how awful headaches can be, they just stop you in your tracks which is awful with a newborn. Lou x

Hi,
I also had terrible headaches after my c-section which turned out to be a leak from the epidural. I couldn't sit or stand without feeling terrible. I had a blood patch - but only had to be in hospital for four hours - a couple before and a couple afterwards and my husband and baby stayed with me the whole time. Headache disappeared with hours and has not recurred.
While waiting two days for the blood patch I was advised to drink lots of coffee or caffiene as this helps the headache.
