Hi
I am due to give birth in 3/4 weeks time. As my last pregnancy ended up in an Emergency C Section there is a chance of a ruptured uterus. Especially as there is only a 14 month gap between my pregnancies and I am also prone to giving birth to large babies. My last baby was 9lb 2 and my unborn baby is currently off the chart for size and will be pushing 10lbs. The abdominal size is something like 98%!!
I decided that due to the short gap between my pregnancies and size of baby it would be safer to have a C Section. However, the Consultant seemed to almost order me to try for a natural birth. If it is the safest thing to do then I am happy to give birth virginally but due to the short gap in my pregnancies and size of baby I am not sure this is the safest mode of delivery. I am aware that hospitals are now trying to reduce the amount of C-Sections they are giving and I cant help but wonder if the reason why they are trying to persuade me to opt for a natural birth is because of finanical reasons rather than safety.
Has anyone else been in the same situation? Has anyone else managed to give birth naturally shortly after a C-Section to a large baby??
I am so confused. Not sure what to do anymore.
