hi, i had a section 6 weeks ago and have been constipated for most of that time. dr told me on monday that a lot of breastfeeding mums forget to drink extra water so they are dehydrated which leads to constipation. he told me to make sure i'm drinking enough for me and then again for my baby as he is taking fluids from me. i've also tried prune juice, prune yoghurts and fruit generally and actimol yoghurts.

Hi! It's miserable, isn't it?
It sounds like you may be a bit constipated....it's hard to tell without having a feel of your tummy, but if you're feeling terribly bloated, sluggish, nauseaous, off your food, and generally not yourself....constipation can really slow you down, and everything behind the block of hard stool can turn to liquid, which might explain the need to go (hard stool), and the diarrhoea. I would definately go to your GP to be assessed. In the meantime, drink plenty of water, eat plenty of fruit, and keep mobile. Sometimes the drugs after a section, and the worry of pain on passing a motion, can all make you constipated. HTH xxx

as i said in my title a little too much info, but worried...
my bowel movements have never been the same. i'm constantly feel like i need to go, and hardly nothing comes out, or it's watery and i have to dash. also stomach rumbles lots when digesting food. and when i pass wind it's not nice!!
it's been 9 weeks now and thinking of goinfg to docs but dont want to go to be told it's normal! i'm also bf and dont know if that has anything to do with it. i'm worried it may be prolapse as have similar symptoms and havent been able to make love as it's painful!! my sis thinks it maybe irratable bowel syndrome!
sorry it's too much info, but advise would be nice - thanks.
