Didn't think it would happen for me especially when various midwives and consultants don't instill you with confidence, but at seven days overdue i went to see a consultant "to discuss my options" i was desperate to give birth after my first labour had ended in an emergency section reason given FAILURE TO PROGRESS???? anyway the consultant i saw was entirely on my side and was prepared to give me as much time as is safe to go into spontanious labour.that night i had to call a midwife to see me as i was in fact in the early stages of labour. granted it took me two more days to actually give birth but i did it though sheer bloody mindedness. i wouldn't go to the hospital until i could take the pain no longer. my advice is if the reason for previous c-section isn't likely to re-occur be confident in your womanly abilities to give birth and don't be told what to do. know your own mind and body and tell the proffesionals what you are going to do and not the other way round.good luck to you!!!

Hazeyjen, did they give you a hard time about wanting a home VBAC? I really really wanted a hb last time but ended up being induced and then having a section. This time i know its my last chance as im on my 4th baby, and id love to still get my hb. But ive been told that most community mws will try to talk you out of it and bully you into either a planned section or a hospital VBAC. I know if i attempt it in hospital i will end up with another section, as i dont labour well in a hospital setting, especially not stuck on my back in bed!!!!!
Please can you let me know how you went about getting them to agree lol.
Sorry to hijack the thread, but ive been trying to find people who have had the HBAC experience to use as ammunition when i speak to the mw about it

Hi, Your stories are all positive to hear, I have an E-C-Section in Apr_07 after being induced 2.5 days prior, and the following 6 weeks of not being allowed to do much while I recovered were relatively annoying (Made the most of it lol) and so the next time I want to try V-Bac.... Who knows how it will turn out!!...

Hi
Went into early labour and tried for a natural birth.
Unfortunately the baby turned into the wrong position at 5cm so I had to have another c-section. Glad I tried though as I now know that a natural birth is out of the question for me. I am guessing that I have a strange shaped pelvis that makes my babies turn into the wrong position.

I have just arrived home after delivering my baby girl natually.
I went in yesterday morning booked for section at 7.30am was told that I was last on list so operaton should be preformed approx 12noon. Id been having pains all week to be honest and I was 10 days overdue, anyway the pains kept coming in the morning by 1115 I was in so much pain doctors came checked me over and said I was 6cms they then moved me to a delivery room to keep an eye on me (secretly I think they wanted me to give birth as opposed to rushing me into theatre) anyway next thing I knew I was wanting to push and at 1251 Lexie was born. It all happened so fast im glad I done it natually now as Im home walking around not tied to a morphine drip in hospital for the next 4 days.
Good luck

Trinamoo you seemed to have had the same births as me lol! Emergency section due to anterior lip and taking ages to dilate and then baby not moving down. Vbac with ds was a forceps. And this is my third and will be going for a vbac again hopefully at home!
To the original poster a lot of women feel that trying for a vbac and then this resulting in another section would be very tramatic and like the idea of a calm planned section. Try the vbac website for info.

Hi
I was just wondering what the weight of your baby was? I would like to give birth naturally but am really worried as my baby is going to be quite big - around 10lbs. This means alot of pressure on the uterus which I am worried about as there is a risk of ruptured uterus. I only had my last C-Section 13 months ago and my baby is due in around 2 weeks time.

hi hun well i had a v-birth on th 26th of may 2008 after a e-c-section may 2003 with my son, and its the bst feeling ever, i wasnt sure and right at the end i was am i doing the right thing....
well here my birth story finley was due 31st may, but on the 25th the pains started at aroud 10ish i rang the ward at about 12ish pain was getting too much so got there at 1 was told was only 2cm (omfg) and that they didnt think i was in labour it was just a water infection, and were going to put me on the ward at this point they tryed to send df home but he hide in my room, as at the point was so bad i would of killed him if he had left, so i waddle down the ward and run my self a bath get in and oh s*** i cant get out this pain is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to bad so 20 mins later i finally pull myself out stick a t-shirt on waddle up and ask df to put pj bottoms on as i can bend over and as he goes to pull them up water shoots out and i need to push now df goes running for mw and comes back with cleaner he cant find mw she then goes running off comes back with mwwho says dont be so silly your not in full labour yet, she pulls me on bed looks in beetween legs and says oh s*** dont push (finley head was there) rush me through to deliver 3 pushs no pain relife and finley was born at 4.13am 15 stichers later and at 7.30am i was sat at home. it was the best feeling in the world, i can really same i enjoyed every little bit of it.
if you have any questions private message me or put them on here i will come back to you
(sorry if there is loads of spelling mistakes writing this finley on my nee)
good luck kelly xxx

I opted for a VBAC in my second pg., (after much deliberating in my mind). My MW advised me that I could request a section, (ds1 had been long labour and emm. csection) but she said it was better allow labour to start on it's own, even if it ended up being another section. <p> The day before my sons EDD the waters all broke, and I was admitted, (because of the previous sction they wanted to keep an eye on us). A while later he lost all his mecomium and got distressed. At 9am the following morning the MW came and told me they wanted to deliver him today, because of the distress and the fact he had no waters now. So at 3pm he was delivered by planned section. All said and done, it was another section at the last minute but I am really glad did it all the way I did. My son arrived on his due date. Sorry mine isn't an actal VBAC story but there are plenty of people who do have them. Good luck. xx

Hello, I am a second time mum opting for VBAC as well, and I know what you mean - I do not know anyone who hasn't chosen an elective section 2nd time around! Would love to hear from anyone who has had a vaginal birth after a caeser..

Hi
Was wondering if anyone out there has given birth naturally following a C-Section. Everyone I know seems to have opted for another C-Section.
The hospital tell me that 60% of women do but I find it impossible to even find one. Is there anyone out there????????. It appears that most people opt for another C-Section.
