The doc goes over your consent (usually at your pre op check) and any risks that may occur (to be honest these are the same risks for most major surgery).
On the day the aneasthatist (sp) will talk you through what will happen and the doc comes round and asks if you have questions about the procedure, They will look at your notes and ask why you chose elective section and maybe talk through previous sections (if you had any)

What sort of things do the doctor etc speak to you about? Just surgery in general, risks etc? Or do they go over your notes and your past etc?

As my section was on a Monday, on the Friday before I had my pre-op consultation. They talk through the risks and what will happen before, during and after the section briefly. They also answer any questions you have. Then you sign the consent forms. On the morning the MWs came and sorted me out, explained what was happening, if anyone was before us, any emergencies or if they were waiting for any staff, I had bloods taken and had to wait for the results but I don't think everyone has that, then the anaesthetist talked me through what would happen once in the operating room and then it started.
