Hello
My baby was extended breech also. She had a hip scan and they found a problem with both hips.
She is in her 5th week of being in a harness and has an appointment with a consultant next week to see how she's getting on, so fingers crossed x

I also had an extended breach bay and remember well the frog like position. Ds is now 2. His hip scan was fine and the whole thing is long forgotten. I remember feeling anxious though until I got the all clear. Good luck. I am sure all will be fine. They are just doing what is best by checking.

hi mine was 10 weeks ago for extended breech and she stayed like it for a while mostly when relaxed or sleeping, sometimes it looked very unatural!!! but now she still looks like a frog when she sleeps but we had the hip scan 3. weeks ago and her hips were perfect, i wasent sure cuz of the position she sleeps in but it was fine, dont worry too much if anyting its something we can tell them about when they are older.
xxxxxxx

My baby is 38 weeks old now, he was transverse so he too had to have a hip scan, everything looked fine but he still had to go back a few months later for x-ray and to see the consultant, eveything still looks fine but they still want to see him when he is walking just to check his legs are working properly! hth good luck! x

Hi my lo is 10 months and he was born breech with his legs up by his head, they scanned him the next day and both hips were dislocated, then we had to see a consultant and go for another scan after 3 weeks which they found that they were still dislocated. They then he put him a harness and we went for regular scans to check on his progress, he did have to go in a stronger harness but after that he made good progress and now hes doing really well hes been out of his harness for quite a while now and we see the consultant next april when hes walking hopefully for the last time.
I know it sounds scary and horrible if you have to go down this route but you soon get used to it, the scan is just like you had when pregnant and they put them on their side and its really quick, as for the legs they usually go back fine. You could go and you los hips are fine, we saw quite a few people go for scans and they were ok, so good luck if there is a problem it can be sorted now while they dont know anything about it. Try and think positive even if it isnt the news you want to hear. Let us know how you get on.

Hi Everyone
I had c.section 19 days ago as ds was breech, little ones legs are pulled up cause been in position so long - has to go for hip scan at 6 weeks to see everything ok.
Has anyone else little one been for this scan - how did you get on ?
Do little ones legs just straighten out eventually ?

Hi.. Im booked in for a section a week today as baby is breech. Had a look in my notes which all say legs extend?! Been trying to work out what this is? Also have read that some of your little ones have had to have scan, etc to check their hips.. will my baby need this? Nohing has been mentioned to me apart from baby being breech and nedding section
