Hi Girls,
I am currently working on a cross stitch pattern for my friend's baby due in October. It is a Forever Friends door hanger with Baby sleeping on it. Gosh I never thought it would be this tricky. Could you recommend any frames I should buy to hold it and therefore make life a bit easier? Most of them are circular and I am worried that, due to it being a rectangular pattern, the fabric will be stretched out of shape.
Any other tips would be great as I think I need more than four months to do this in. lol
Cheers,

Hi,
I do a lot of cross stitch and you can get rectangular frames but most of them are bigger! if you get one like this you have to sew fabric to the edge of the aida so it is strong enough to hold when stretched and then put it in the frame that way.
or just get a round frame. don't worry about it stretching the wrong way it will be fine! just move it round as you need to get to different parts of the aida! you can use the iron on a low setting and place the work under a clean tea-towel to iron out the foldes later!
have you also sealed the edges? if you do this well then the edges won't fray and you can wash it the same as delicates without the fabric unravelling.
Hope this helps ask away if you have any more questions
