I love Val Mcdermid, Reginald Hill (not the Daziel and Pascoe though) and have just discovered Katherine John who is really good.

I quite like Stuart McBride though I'm not really a thriller fan. I think he's done 3 books - Cold Granite, Dying Light and Broken Skin - troubled cop trying hard to solve dreadful murrrrrders under difficult circumstances in and around Aberdeen (I may have been slightly biased as I grew up in Aberdeen and it was really nice to know exactly where the places mentioned in the book were!)

Oooh, I love Tess Gerritsen.

Have you tried Val McDermid - she wrote Wire in the Blood, which ITV made into a serious with Robson Greene - the book is better than the TV show.

Thriller and thriller type crime ones? Just read  Heart stopper by Joy Fielding-fantastic couldn't put it down! Have a few Tess Gerritsen books but haven't read them yet.
